Kismet, ALMAX, Project 821, and Dragonfly, 2024 certainly didn’t hold back with impressive launches. Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be just as thrilling, with highly anticipated deliveries like REV Ocean, Oceanco Y722, Feadship Breakthrough, and Lürssen Shackleton. But the project I’m personally most excited about is Project Tanzanite. Set to become the largest Dutch-built motoryacht in history, Project Tanzanite will also take its place as the flagship of Amels B.V.. Measuring 394 feet (120 meters), this fully custom superyacht is reportedly in the outfitting phase at Damen Yachting’s Vlissingen facility in the Netherlands. Penned by Espen Øino, Project Tanzanite is a blend of edgy design and elegant curves, with Øino describing it as “a yacht with a unique layout and a timeless external appearance.” Her interiors, crafted by ZURETTI Design, feature neutral, nature-inspired tones complemented by wood, marble accents, and curved furniture, creating a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere. Here are a few popular choices and what to consider for each: Classic White: Timeless and widely popular, white keeps the yacht cooler in warm climates and is easier to maintain. It’s also highly reflective, giving a clean and elegant look on the water. Pro: Low maintenance, stays cooler. Con: Less distinctive, shape of the boat is blended in surrounding and other boats. Navy Blue: Sophisticated and striking, navy blue offers a strong presence. It’s a great choice for those seeking a more unique look, though it can show scratches more easily. Pro: Distinctive, elegant, gives your boat classy look. Con: Can fade and require more frequent touch-ups, salt stains are more visible. Charcoal or Black: Modern and bold, darker colors make a powerful statement. These colors can hide minor waterline stains but may heat up more in the sun. Pro: Sleek, modern look, hides waterline stains. Con: Much warmer surfaces, highly visible salt stains that require more polishing and care.
