🌊 It is well know that submarine landslides are a significant hazard to coastal communities and that submarine landslides are widespread on continental margins but their distribution is poorly know as only small parts of the ocean are mapped at high resolution. Therefore, we urgently need systematic approaches to map and analyze submarine landslides for a realistic submarine landslide hazard assessment. 🌐 Want to be a pioneer in this crucial research? Join the #POSEIDON_MSCA_DN and apply for #DC02. 🌊 New Research on Ocean Current Measurements Published in Frontiers! The peer-reviewed article "Study of the Origin and Correction of Compass Measurement Errors in Doppler Current Meters" has recently been published in the Frontiers Journal 👏🏼 This work, a collaborative effort with Shom, CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique -INSU, and #CNR - ISMAR, is part of the #MINKEProject, aiming to enhance our understanding of ocean currents 🌐 and contribute to the broader field of marine science. The article explores the complexities of measuring both surface and subsurface ocean currents, elements crucial for climate research and environmental monitoring. Our team has developed new correction formulas, designed to significantly improve the accuracy of compass measurements in current data. This achievement underscores the importance of international collaboration in scientific research and contributes to global efforts in studying ocean dynamics and their impact on climate change. Congratulations to Marc Le Menn, Dominique Lefevre, Katrin Schroeder and Mireno Borghini for this remarkable achievement! 🎉 Discover more in our full study here 👉🏼 https://lnkd.in/diJXpENi #Oceanography #ClimateChange #MarineScience #MINKEProject #InternationalCollaboration
