OCEM Airfield supports the expansion of the Reggio Calabria Airport. Reggio Calabria Airport, also known as Tito Minniti Strait Airport, was the first Italian airport built in Calabria serving the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria and Messina in Southern Italy. It is located along the west coast overlooking the strait of Messina. The airport is currently undergoing a passenger terminal redesign and expansion but is also refurbishing its airside in a drive to upgrade its infrastructure to meet its ambitious expansion, increasing the number of flights and passengers. Ryanair recently created an important base at the airport with several new routes. OCEM Airfield is supporting the airport with its latest generation LED Airfield Ground Lighting delivering amongst others the airport’s approach lighting including its LED Papi and Flashing System, working in 230V as well as powered via its CCRs. Besides this specific set-up, OCEM Airfield supplied the airport’s taxiway lighting needs and its IGBT power solutions (CCRs) and all accessories. The selection by the new airport management company of OCEM Airfield’s leading solutions illustrates the key role the company continues to play in Europe and in one of its home markets. #Salernoairport will open in July 2024, only a few months left until the first flight of the Amalfi Coast, #GESAC has received the green light from #Enac. #easyJet and also #Ryanair are showing interest in Salerno, as confirmed by Ryanair Group CEO Michael O'Leary, but #Volotea, which by its nature connects small cities, could also be interested. #Salernoairport has the potential to intercept the entire basin of #Basilicata, of a part of #Campania (provinces of #Salerno, #Avellino and #Benevento, part of the province of #Naples), part of the #Calabria region, as well as that of the tourist offer for the Amalfi Coast and Cilento, a very large basin, which will have no difficulty once fully operational in creating demand for the carriers who will be able to satisfy and cultivate it, with adequate capacity and costs certainly lower than those of Naples airport. In this article we begin to discuss Phase1, Phase2, the railway station on the Tyrrhenian route, the A2 Salerno Reggio Calabria motorway, extension of the Salerno metro, planned extension of the runway to 2,200 meters. https://lnkd.in/dkcxrA9Y Napoli Salerno Airports Gesac easyJet Volotea Regione Campania F2i SGR Margherita Chiaramonte Eugenio Biddiri Valeria Rebasti Mauro Bolla Lorenzo Lagorio Gabriel Schmilovich Isgut #wetravelbiz #wetravelaviation Wetravel.biz Wetravelaviation Trenitalia

New historical record for Italian airports which in 2023 will reach 197.2 million passengers for the first time, exceeding 2019 by 2.1%, the year of the previous record, still not influenced by the pandemic crisis. Full recovery of the international segment. The filling rate of aircraft is growing, with a lower impact on the climate, as demonstrated for example by: Wizz Air, but also Volotea, two different cases, but which demonstrate how it is possible to reduce emissions per passenger by increasing the number of passengers transported. This is also demonstrated by air movements, which in 2023 were 2.6% lower than in 2019, standing at 1,601,059 units, but passengers increased, therefore, in 2023 they flew with a higher load factor, bringing benefits also in environmental terms. According to data processed by Assaeroporti, the airports of #RomeFiumicino with 40.5 million, #MilanoMalpensa with 26.1 million, #Bergamo with 16 million, #Naples are among the top 10 Italian airports by number of passengers in 2023. with 12.4 million, #Venice with 11.3 million, #Catania with 10.7 million, #Bologna with 10 million, #MilanoLinate with 9.4 million, #Palermo with 8.1 and #Bari with 6.5 million . https://lnkd.in/dPeEwVY6 SEA Milan Airports Milan Bergamo Airport - SACBO S.p.A. #Ljubljana #JožePučnik Airport (LJU) operated by Fraport AG has become the latest airport to implement Assaia – The ApronAI turnaround technology to optimize the airport's turnaround performance. #Fraport is examining the solution for implementation across its entire airport network, initial results at #Ljubljanaairport (LJU) show the substantial difference in average ground delays for flights where alerts were acknowledged compared to those for which alerts were not acknowledged. The reduction in average ground delays is almost six minutes in the period from January to February this year. https://lnkd.in/dvB9f7t2 Claus Grunow Babett Stapel Christiaan Hen #assaia #airport #IA #airportinnovation #innovation #aviation #wetarvelbiz Wetravel.biz #wetravelaviation Wetravelaviation

The opening of a base for an airport is certainly a positive thing, even more so for #Trieste, which with the new #Ryanair base is betting on the future of the #FriuliVeneziaGiulia airport. An #airport that has nothing to envy in terms of infrastructure, even if smaller, than the #Venice airport, which has always captured the majority of its catchment area, attempts have been made several times to create synergies between the two stopovers, but the conclusion was never reached, certainly for political reasons and economic interests. https://lnkd.in/dpGWKySX Trieste AirportPierfabrizio Di Marco Isabella Miatto Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia #aviation #wetravelbiz Wetravel.biz #wetravelaviation Wetravelaviation Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline

Based on the December data and the rolling over the entire year, it is time to take stock of Wizz Air's 2023, a year of continuous growth (+20 million passengers), of reduction in CO2 emissions (December excluded) and with the Pratt & Whitney engine problem to deal with. Not everything went smoothly, it must be admitted, but #WizzAir continued to stabilize its network, also moving capacity to more profitable airports, reducing in the less profitable ones, with the consequence of cancellation of some flights and destinations, but much less than the 2022, it should therefore be noted an important improvement of the carrier also in terms of stability and operational efficiency. https://lnkd.in/dnyMB5vs #wizz Andras Rado Krislen Keri Robert Carey #wizzairabudabhi #aviation #wetravelbiz Wetravel.biz #wetravelaviation Wetravelaviation
