We also train healthcare professionals, educate families, and advocate for health equity. 🔬Research: To address the maternal and infant health crisis, we fund innovative research, investing nearly $6M across 42 awardees, uncovering breakthroughs with 5 Prematurity Research Centers, publishing 82 articles, and supporting early-stage ventures through our Innovation Fund. 🤝Community collaboration: We collaborate with over 20K volunteers and partners to support moms and babies everywhere. March for Babies brings together families, volunteers, corporate partners, and communities, helping raise $26M to go back into our mission.

So what is a HAS Foundation Care Pack? Our HAS Foundation Care Pack is just one way we show our support and understanding for families navigating the incredibly challenging journey of paediatric palliative care at the Women's and Children's Hospital. Each Care Pack is packed with items designed to alleviate some of the everyday burdens faced by these families during hospital stays. Inside, you’ll find a compendium for organising medical documents, an easy meal solution for those times when preparing food seems like an impossible task, a water bottle and travel mug for long hospital stays, along with vouchers for groceries, meals and family activities and some toys, books, games...there's something for the whole family. The Care Packs started after our own experience navigating palliative care with Hunter. We understand first hand the needs of families during this time — from managing the care of other children and trying to maintain some form of normality at home, to keeping track of the endless stream of medical information, all while coping with the emotional toll it takes on your own well-being. We know we cannot change or cure the path ahead for each family, but our mission is to ease their journey, even if just a little, by providing practical support with our Care Packs. This initiative is one way we aim to make the path through paediatric palliative care a bit more gentle. Did you know that March of Dimes pioneered what we know today as grassroots fundraising? 🪙 They’ve been empowering people everywhere to play a role in advancing healthcare since they led the eradication of polio in the 30s and 40s with a call for extra dimes from radio listeners across the country 📻 More than 80 years later, they are still getting thousands of people involved in the mission - now through their March for Babies events around the country for healthier moms and babies 👩🏼🍼 Their latest step to increase accessibility of donating is adding DAFpay to all of their peer to peer fundraising forms for the event ✅ In addition to finding brand new donors that prefer giving with their DAF, they’re also regularly seeing existing donors that historically gave a $100 now making gifts over $2,000 through DAFpay 🥳 As Karyn DeMartini, MBA, VP of Major, Principal & Planned Giving, says “It’s just a fact that donors are increasingly electing to use DAFs—why would we not make that as easy as possible to use a DAF to support us?” 💡 I loved getting to learn more of Karyn’s personal connection to the mission, the exciting results with DAFpay and March of Dimes latest initiatives for healthier moms and babies everywhere 🤗 Writing our cause of the month spotlight articles is a highlight for me every month 💜 If there’s an organization you think we should spotlight in the future that’s innovating with their impact and their DAF fundraising, please let me know! 🙌🏼 #nonprofit #fundraising #philanthropy

The #LivingDonorProtectionAct will increase organ donations by protecting the health and rights of all living donors. What does the #LDPA do? (1) Prohibits insurance from denying coverage based on status as a living organ donor. (2) Covers living organ donation under Family and Medical Leave. (3) Directs HHS to update education materials on living organ donation to align with these changes.
