Just like that, one diploma recieved ✅   Had a blast this past year of my dual MBA-MPH continuing to learn about leveraging technology and innovation to improve healthcare delivery at scale. Highlights: - Last summer at Doximity helping build software tools for physicians - Working on the Digital Technology Strategy team at Yale New Haven Health System on their #virtualcare ecosystem and Remote Patient Monitoring programs. - Published twice for research on patient experiences of discimination in emergency care.   A dual MBA & Masters in Public Health often provokes an "Oh that's an unsual combination..." response. I've found the two degrees to be complementary and critical. Healthcare is a multimodal and interdisciplinary field. Shouldn’t our studies of it be? It's needed as ever to apply the best management and operations practices to healthcare provision. And equally important to understand and leverage the potential of science, data, technology to the health of people and society. Combining disciplines has been invaluable and I'm excited to finish out the last leg of this journey.   Huge thank you to all the friends and family who supported me along the (sometimes bumpy) way. Special credit to my favorite courses on health data architecture and clinical research informatics with Leon Rozenblit, running health systems with Dr. Michael Apkon, and Narratives in Illness and Disability (anyone who saw me last spring knew I would *not* stop talking about this class. Narrative Medicine fans, let's chat!)   Doing a dual degree across schools was unusual, but where my path led me. Prospective students considering graduate school at #Columbia or #Yale University or a dual #MBAMPH, happy to chat. Many people helped me get here and keen to pay it forward.

Going Beyond Borders: While acing academics is crucial, I wish I had embraced the challenge of international exams like USMLE alongside my regular coursework. It's an investment that can significantly enhance your post-medical school opportunities. Research Momentum: Research isn't just a box to check; it's a career launcher. I wished I dived deeper into research earlier during my undergraduate days. Starting early and building a strong research portfolio can open doors you never imagined. Global Perspectives: Attending conferences, both local and international, offers invaluable insights into the broader scientific community. Networking, learning about diverse research, and understanding global trends are key to staying at the forefront of medicine. Social Media Savvy: Recognize the power of social media in building your professional brand. I wish I had taken it more seriously during my student years. Today, it's a tool for global outreach, collaboration, and showcasing your expertise. Do I regret? Not at all! Post-medical school, I realized the gaps and worked tirelessly to fill them. The medical profession is a lifelong journey that requires continuous growth and adaptation. Relying solely on what I learned in medical school decades ago would be insufficient in providing the high-quality care my clients deserve. Curricula now encompass a broader range of disciplines, from data and digital literacy to advanced basic sciences, to prepare future practitioners for the complex healthcare landscape.
