From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all for your generosity this end of financial year. We have seen an incredible outpouring of support from our entire community and raised a record amount, doubling last year’s appeal result! The funds raised will go towards supporting promising ovarian cancer research projects, to better detect, prevent, and treat ovarian cancer, through the OCRF National Research Grants Scheme. Once again, thank you to our matching donors, the Quinn Femelle Foundation and Mr Hamid Daghighi for their contributions, totaling $150,000, and to Professor Kristen Radford for her research briefing. And finally, a huge and sincere hug from everyone here to community ambassador Liv Curtis who shared her moving story as the face of this year’s appeal campaign. Liv also spoke with Mamamia, highlighting the difficult journey and countless difficulties ovarian cancer patients face before and after diagnosis. Make an Impact by Contributing to the Little Things That Make the Most Significant Impact Participating in the 3K Race for Life in support of cancer research is a perfect example of how small actions can lead to significant impacts. While a 3K race might seem like a modest contribution, the collective effort of participants generates substantial awareness and funding for cancer research. Each step taken by runners symbolizes a stride towards advancements in treatments and hope for patients and their families. By joining the race, I contributed not only through my participation but also by fund raising, creating awareness and encouraging others to support the cause. The funds raised, though seemingly small on an individual level, collectively support groundbreaking research, new treatments, and better patient care. This illustrates the power of collective action—how many small efforts can combine to make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer. Most interestingly, I have come to realize that my involvement in the race inspired others in my community and many have shown interest to participate in 2025, showing that every little effort counts. It's a testament to how participating in seemingly small events can drive significant change, demonstrating that we all have the power to make a difference through our actions, no matter how small they may seem.

Part 121 Pilot & Recruiting/Interview Team for CommuteAir, University Professor, Actor, PADI Divemaster, film/theatre director, and former Disney cast-member.
What do Alex Trebek, Michael Landon, Aretha Franklin, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Steve Jobs, and Patrick Swayze all have in common? They were taken by Pancreatic Cancer. It’s ok to say the word cancer. It’s just a word. We don’t need to whisper it, but we do need to fight it. I hope you never have to experience the pain and anguish associated with cancer nor to be the caregiver of a loved one who is fighting it. If you do, you’ll be grateful that places like Pancreatic Cancer Action Network exist the same as my family needed their services in 2019. I have ~1,000 followers here on LinkedIn (I’m no Taylor Swift, but I’m happy that number for now!). If everyone donates just $5 to this annual nationwide fundraiser, that $5,000 will help fund clinical trials and patient/family education & advocacy. Now imagine if everyone donated $10 or $20. You CAN make a difference. You DO make a difference. Survival rates for Pancreatic Cancer are on the rise and it’s due largely to organizations like this one. Government funding just isn’t where it needs to be, so it’s up to the surviving family members and our friends to help where the government and institutions fall short. If you’re in South Florida and would like to join me for the 5K on April 27, that’s great too!! #cancer #cancerawareness #cancerresearch #cancerprevention #cancersucks #fyp #healthcare #fundraising #pancreaticcancer #makeadifference

Learn more at the link in comments. DID YOU KNOW that approximately 20% of cancer clinical trials close due to insufficient enrollment? "Pressing for a Purpose: 100 Press-Ups a Day for Bone Cancer Research UK!" Hey everyone, I hope this post finds you well! I'm excited to share with you a personal challenge that I've embarked upon this February. For the entire month, I've committed myself to do 100 press-ups each day, and here's the best part – it's all in support of Bone Cancer Research UK. Why bone cancer, you ask? Well, this cause is close to my heart, and I believe in the power of community and collective action to make a difference. Bone cancer affects individuals of all ages, and the research conducted by Bone Cancer Research UK is crucial in understanding the disease, improving treatments, and ultimately working towards a cure. I chose press-ups as the challenge because it's a physical activity that pushes me beyond my comfort zone. It's not just about the physical effort; it's a symbolic gesture of strength, resilience, and solidarity with those who are battling bone cancer. As many of you know, supporting charitable causes requires more than just good intentions. It requires action. That's why I've set a goal to raise awareness and funds throughout February. Every press-up is a reminder that the more we push ourselves, the closer we get to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in medical research. I invite you all to join me on this journey. Whether you can contribute financially or simply share this post to raise awareness, every bit counts. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by bone cancer. If you'd like to contribute to this cause, I've set up a fundraising page https://lnkd.in/eQKWuYtg Your generosity will directly support Bone Cancer Research UK in their mission to find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for bone cancer. Let's press for progress and make a difference together! Thank you for your support, and stay tuned for updates on my journey throughout the month. #PressForACure #BoneCancerResearchUK #ChallengeAccepted
