However, the proponents of such philosophy are sending you on a wild goose chase. In reality, there is no such a place to find or create. It does get easier to eliminate the "naysayers" for those who are on the top of the pyramid. But, it is a sure recipe for a disaster. (à la "The King has no clothes" scenario). In fact, the negative people provide an invaluable service that are vital for success. Keep your bruised ego aside and look at every criticism impartially and use them to your advantage. Keith McFarland calls them "the Insultants" and strongly recommends them to every organization. The insultants will let you know your flaws. They cover the blind spots. They point at the hole that may sink the boat. They care enough... Find them and make sure to induct the insultants as a strategic component in your team.
