Local Council Compliance Applications. It is becoming increasingly difficult to submit the applications at local councils and the main reason is that more and more "supporting" documents are required before the application is accepted and processed. Here is a list of what is required: Business License - Copy of Zoning and locality map - Certified copy of id's - Copy of CIPC documents. - Copy Current SARS tax certificate - Copy of menu - Copy liquor license - Copy of proof of residence - Copy of Occupation certificate. - Copy of Fire Clearance and most recently copy of Mall layout plan and Mall Occupation certificate. Certificate of Acceptability you must in addition to the above, also have all these documents: - Copy of approved local council equipment layout plan - Copy of most recent pest control service - Copy of most recent Extraction Canopy service - Copy of R638 Staff training certificates (New to the process) - Cleaning schedules - Old oil removal schedules - PPE register - Stock receiving register - Temperature control register - List of Suppliers and even copies of their Certificate of Acceptability. and for Fire safety Inspection COC, the above documents and : - Copy of approved local council fire safety plan. - Copy of most recent fire equipment service. - Copy of most recent Extraction Canopy service - Copy of Current flammable gas permit and in some cases they also require fire fighting training and first aid training certificates. The fire safety inspection letter and COC will be required in order to process and issue the Business license and Environmental Health certificate. The process of applying for any local council compliance applications are becoming more difficult and the inspections time frame and final issue time frames are becoming longer. The legislation stating reasonable time frames and due processes cannot be quoted or relied on anymore. Feel free to contact us for any assistance and help regarding the above. Let's get to the crux of survival - Shelter for your BBQ, a conversation often observed with interest by us at AIM. The obvious responses swirl around: absolutely, perhaps, possibly, never. Just picture your shiny barbecue set tucked away cosily indoors, why on earth would you need a cover for it? Quite unlikely. But if your barbecue graces the outdoors through wind, storm and the famously unpredictable UK weather, it begs for a cover. Investing a tidy sum on a barbecue implies you would want to preserve its quality as long as you can. Ergo, a cover emerges as a practical choice. A shield to keep your BBQ defended from the elements, ensuring many seasons of grilling pleasure. Yet, every silver lining has a cloud. Fine BBQ sets are designed to weather the storms, but a little help never hurts. Budget-friendly barbies, in particular, need this tender loving care to stay in tip-top condition. Bear in mind though, with time, moisture might sneak in under the cover, posing a threat of damage. Regrettably, every BBQ left neglected would eventually deteriorate. Humidity: The Invisible Enemy Humidity. You have it in the rain. You get it in the heat. So when your barbecue is all wrapped up, that humidity can trap itself underneath. No air circulation and voila! You have the perfect environment for rust. If the barbecue is suffocated under the cover, corrosion might knock at the door. If you reside by the seaside, that salty breeze can be especially harmful. The Middle Ground As a solution, consider a BBQ cover that can be occasionally removed when not in use for extended periods. A vented cover comes handy to maintain air circulation. And, ideally, choose a storage location that offers natural airflow. The Great Cover Debate: Custom vs. Generic The hunt for your BBQ cover presents itself in two shades: tailor-made covers, crafted specially for your grill model, and universal covers that are mostly available off-the-shelf. Tailored Covers Offering a perfect fit, these make your grill feel snug, just like a well-tailored suit. The top-tier ones often boast vents for improved airflow and are crafted from luxury materials. Thanks to a tailor-made fit, these covers offer stellar protection against weather and elements. Universal Covers These offer a more wallet-friendly alternative and are far easier to source than their custom counterparts. Since they cater to varied grill sizes, they can leave gaps and offer less secure coverage. They might experience a literal 'blow-away' moment in gale-force winds. Material Matters The ultimate BBQ cover should guard your prized possession. The champions here are waterproof materials that offer the maximum protection from harsh weather and pesky bugs. When scanning options, consider materials like: Vinyl Polyester Oilcloth Weather-proof nylon Measure Twice, Buy Once A no-brainer, yet measure your grill before buying a cover. Unless opting for a custom-made one, choose a cover slightly larg
