I'm currently reading this book which talks about organizational success greatly relying on people and one point to take away is people are the biggest resource in an organization. Once you have the right people issues to do with motivation and discipline are longer a problem. The right people contribute rightly to the company.

As we elevate ourselves in our careers and personal endeavors, it's crucial to recognize that the expectations and standards also rise. When we reach new heights, the way we approach deals, collaborations, and opportunities must reflect our growth and the lessons we've learned along the way. This mindset isn't just about demanding more but also about bringing a higher level of value, integrity, and vision to the table. In my journey as a business owner and community developer, I've come to embrace this principle fully. Each project, partnership, and decision is made with the understanding that we are operating on a higher plane, driven by the desire to create lasting positive change. I can’t quite recall when Barb McGregor and I first crossed paths; perhaps it was at a Hobart Hurricanes game or during her tenure in the Executive building with Premier and Cabinet. Regardless, one thing remains constant—we've always shared a fondness for a good cup of tea and stimulating conversation.   Fast forward to today, and the remarkable Barb stands as the Managing Director and Founder of McGregor and Associates. Specialising in strategy, effective communication, and advocacy, McGregor + Associates collaborates with leaders and organisations to cultivate capability, confidence, and engagement.   During our recent tea rendezvous, Barb and I delved into an exciting forthcoming project. Over steaming cups, we explored the potential of a media partnership to amplify our impact. While a partnership sound promising on the surface, careful consideration and strategic planning will ensure its success for all involved.   Identifying Compatible Partners: Aligning our brand values and target demographics to forge meaningful partnerships.   Collaborating on Content: Focusing on crafting engaging and informative content that resonates with our audiences.   Cross-Promotion: Leveraging both traditional and digital platforms to amplify our brands' visibility and reach.   Solidifying Relationships: Ensuring all parties are deeply embedded, fostering mutual trust and collaboration for sustained success.   In the journey of partnership and growth, it's often the simple moments shared over a cup of tea that pave the way for triumphs.

"In your first 90 days as CEO/new hire what's a quick win you can have for each stake holder? For the employees, the customer, and the board. It can be small, but find something that you can take action on." Gainsight Nick talks about how he thinks about joining a new team, a new board, etc -- the importance of bringing a win as fast as possible. He highlights that he thinks about setting up “listening posts” to genuinely hear from all stakeholders—team members, clients, & the board— and how it makes a huge difference. It’s not just about collecting feedback; it’s about making people feel heard and valued. And finding those wins. When new leaders join his team, he encourages them to spend their first 90 days learning and listening. Then, they share their high-level vision and what they’ve discovered.
