My 4th-standard son was asked to write about humans utilizing animals for their benefits. His response was remarkable: "It's not bad if we use them for our benefits, but we must give them proper food and care. If we don't, it's injustice." This simple yet profound statement highlights the importance of empathy and responsibility in our actions. As we strive to build a better world, let's remember that our success is intertwined with the well-being of all living beings. Reading up on semiotics, to learn concepts of Umwelt/Innenwelt is fascinating. Umwelt broadly is how living beings prioritize certain senses over others to be able to thrive in their environment. It is masterful how the mind perpetuates perceptual/cognitive biases to survive!
