REPOST @konikaschallenmd Let’s discuss clinical endpoints... 🥼 This lovely patient has rosacea and pigmentation that we want to address. Here I am using the SWT selective wavelength technology handpiece on the Nordlys called the PR 530. It emits a wavelength of 530-750nm and is effective in targeting the red and brown spots. 🔺The clinical endpoint for vascular lesions is slight darkening of the lesions. This indicates that the light energy has been absorbed by the hemoglobin, and the body will begin to reabsorb the vessel over the following days. 🔺For vascular lesions, mild erythema (redness) is the desired clinical endpoint. Two months ago we shared here our (with Gabriela Teixeira) first case of pDVA in a no-option CLTI patient. Here is the follow-up. One week after treatment , we detected thrombosis of the graft. We performed a successful thrombectomy with 6F Rotarex, following the suggestion from Bruno Migliara. On completion angio, a tight stenosis of the last viabahn (under the retinaculum) was visible and was treated with high pressure balloon angioplasty. Now, after more than one month working well, we keep watching the gangrene delimitation. #CLTI #endovascular #vascularsugery #pdva

🇩🇰📢 First@ #CIRSE2023 First report of #SAVE_AVF RCT evaluating the safety & efficacy of #SELUTIONSLR in treatment of stenotic AV fistula, presented by Prof Dr. Konstantinos Katsanos, MSc MD PhD EBIR 👉🏼SAVE is the first prospective randomized controlled trial of a Sirolimus coated balloon in AVF patients with angiographic follow up. Additionally, fistula volume flow rates, another key index of fistula function, was measured in this study. 👉Uniform distribution of patient and lesion characteristics were observed which indicates a well-balanced subject selection and enrollment. 👉The findings indicate improvements in minimum lumen diameter (MLD) and flow rate after procedure, all of which are statistically significant in both arms. 👉🏼SELUTION SLR demonstrated a safe procedural profile, with no serious adverse events reported and an excellent device success rate (100%) 👉🏼The analysis of the 6 months follow up of the full cohort is currently ongoing. We thank Prof. Thomas Zeller, M.D. for his presentation at The VIVA Foundation's VIVA23 on the one-year results of the DEEPER OUS clinical trial (NCT04162418) evaluating the company’s Bare Temporary Spur Stent System in conjunction with a DCB (investigational use only). He reported that at 12 months, primary patency was 79.2% and 88.8% of patients were free of CD-TLR. Dr Lignereux (Nantes, France) has conducted the clinical trial about Rx he first handheld femtolaser instrument for capsulotomy. Access the article here 👉 https://bit.ly/3Qwxg26. Clinical trial results led to the CE-marking of Rx Instrument in December 2023. 𝗨𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 was evaluated through assessment of the investigator. On a 4-level scale, the investigator was asked to assess the handling of the device in the operating field: it was considered “very easy” for 𝟵𝟳.𝟰% of the patients operated on. This feedback underscores the practicality and ease of use of the Rx device in a clinical setting.

Minoryx released an update for their CALYX programme: https://lnkd.in/e3YiRprm They are currently conducting an extensive pre-screening campaign to identify eligible adults with cALD (cerebral Adrenoleukodystrophy) to take part in phase 3 of their clinical trial. The findings from the trials will enable Minoryx to take the final steps towards US approval of Leriglitazone for treatment of ALD patients. Although we understand this announcment only applies to those living in the US, it is a positive step towards a treatment being available. We hope that once treatment is approved in the US that steps will be taken for EMA and NICE approval which will allow it to be available in the UK #ALD #cALD #leukodystrophy
