Lunnon Metals Metals Ltd (ASX:LM8, OTC:LNMLF) managing director Edmund Ainscough provides Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson with an update on the Long South Gap exploration program at the Silver Lake-Fisher (SLF) Project in the #Kambaldanickeldistrict. The Long South Gap, an underexplored 5.8-square-kilometre area, lies adjacent to the historical #SilverLakeMine and the #KambaldaDome. Processing and analysis of 3D seismic survey data collected in late 2023 by Southern Geoscience Consultants Pty Ltd (SGC) revealed a previously unrecognised channel feature potentially rich in #nickel. This channel is approximately 1-kilometre long, 100-150 metres wide, starting at 670 metres below the surface and plunges at a 40° angle. It is halfway between Wyloo’s McLeay channel and Lunnon’s Silver Lake channels, offset 700 metres from McLeay channel due to the Alpha Island fault. Baxter, a seasoned #mining engineer, discussed the company's evolution since 2012, centering on graphite purification technologies for batteries amidst growing demand in the battery industry. Listing on the TSX-V will increase access to capital while building investor confidence, he said. Highlighting the company's strategic acquisitions in Sri Lanka, Baxter explained the unique advantages of the vein graphite found there: high carbon content (95% in the ground), environmental benefits (no tailings or waste rock), and cost-effectiveness in mining.
