The past week was full of exciting projects. Here's a summary of what I've accomplished: 👥Conducted interviews with prospective candidates for positions within our company. 📹Visited the University of South Florida (USF) to film content for our social media channels. We're dedicated to improving our content and producing new videos weekly to keep our audience engaged. 📰Shared our brand's story in a local magazine interview, connecting with the Tampa Bay audience. It's truly fulfilling to connect with our local community, encouraging and motivating others to pursue their dreams and reach their goals. 🤝Attended the Pinnacle Event, where I had the privilege of meeting Marcus Lemonis, and gaining valuable insights for our business strategy. Networking with other CEOs and business owners in the Tampa area is crucial. I make it a point to connect with professionals from diverse industries at such events, exchanging valuable insights and experiences. 🏀Discussed future potential collaborations with athletes and sports organizations, exploring new growth avenues. I'm looking forward to incorporating my passion for sports into my business. It's important to set small, achievable goals and work towards them consistently. This allows you to see tangible results every week, which can be incredibly motivating and help you stay on track toward your larger objectives. What goal are you working towards this week? #BrandGrowth #Networking #Inspiration #WeekRecap #ODDSox #BeYouBeODD

Helping you achieve at least a 10-to-1 application to interview ratio | TedX | Author | LinkedIn Learning Instructor
Is it better to try for a promotion at your current job, or move up a level elsewhere? This is a question we've all asked ourselves. On the one hand: the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know. There's a good case for staying at your company because you're already familiar with the people, culture, systems, and product. But on the other hand: you could go elsewhere and reinvent yourself. New people at a new company haven't seen you grow over time. You could bust through the doors and more easily be 'the new you'. But do you know what both of these scenarios have in common? You must be able to showcase your value. Some of us are comfortable doing this, others might struggle. It's a skill we definitely learn over time. ______________ If you want to learn to showcase your true potential, you'd enjoy our guest speaker this week. He's an expert in this area 😉. DM me COMMUNITY for a free invite to the live event (2-3pm PST Thursday May 30)

Here is this week's edition of your MUST KNOW connections to grow your network personally and professionally. First up is Ryan Bacon with Involta. I think I should be an honorary Involtan (Involtian?) what do you think Nick & Ryan? Anyways it was good to see Ryan on this side of the state for once and we were able to talk about so many things. Fellow bald men unite! If you haven't had the chance to meet Ryan, we say he's a better Josh Holst for a reason! He's talented and knowledgeable. Next is Kristian Shatto, SHRM-CP with IP Pathways finally we were able to connect in real life! IP Pathways has a gem of a human help run the HR. Time went by really fast and look forward to watching her continue to grow in her (relatively) new role. I got to start my day with IP Pathways AND end it with them too at their Bites & Brews happy hour. It was great to meet so many people that I had only been connected with on LinkedIn! Last, but definitely not least, is Nathanael Buch with the Iowa Wolves. The season is coming to a close (only 6 games left!) and you should consider showing up. Nate is your go to to help you with any of your ticket needs! Plus, season tickets for next year go live next week so if you're looking for a cool way to enjoy basketball or show appreciation to clients or employees having a package might be a great idea! Nate can help you with that, too. Now we just need to work on Jacob from LinkedIn bobblehead night 😉 I'll say it again: MAKE SURE TO MAKE EFFORTS TO MEET YOUR #LINKEDIN CONNECTIONS. They are so beneficial to life and business. Connect with these people. Get to know these people. Promote these people. Together we can change the world. #promotepeoplenotproducts #dsmusa #reppdesmoines #networking #jacobfromlinkedin #businessdevelopment #youngprofessionals #reppicr

Leadership & Career Coach for MID-CAREER LEADERS ⏩ Results: POSITIVE IMPACT & LONG-TERM CAREER FULFILLMENT ➡️ 100s shifted thru tailored coaching, proven framework ➡️ HR: also helping you develop follower-worthy leaders
𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞! 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 👇 I'll be sharing the proven strategy that’s enabled 100s of mid-career leaders to land in roles they love and to love they roles they have. But don't take my word for it. Here's what an actual client has to say: "[𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵'𝘀] 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 can help in so many ways. Two areas we worked on that had the most impact on me: ➡ Meredith guided me in identifying my "WHAT"—my natural strengths and ways of working. ➡ And helped me articulate my "WHY"—pursuing something I’m passionate about (in my case: sports). 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 how I approach networking and gave me the confidence to pursue a career in sports, a dream I had almost given up on. Within a month of working together, I had a hiring manager from a professional football team reach out for an interview, which shifted my entire perspective. 𝗜 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 with a professional sports organization! Again, if you’re seeking a more fulfilling career, I highly recommend working with Meredith." Join us on Oct 8th!

🏈 Highlight Reel for Day One of the #PDConf24 🎥 I wanted to share some quotables, advice, themes, and thoughts I had during Day 1 of the Beyond The Field Player Development Conference! - "The only thing I saw in the mirror was a professional athlete." ~ Jeremiah Brown (on his struggle with identity outside of football and his perspective on the career options presented to him during his upbringing). - Shift the conversation we tell our athletes from showing HOW they are more (transferable skills), not just SAYING they are more. - The importance of choosing the RIGHT major as a student-athlete: HOW will this major support me outside of sports? - "Your major is to help you solve a problem that exists in this world." ~ Jeremiah Brown. - Not everyone is receptive to the same message. As a player development professional, it's important to understand that you may not get buy-in from everyone. It's crucial to find guest speakers and alumni whom the players will respect and listen to, as this will help your message reach a broader audience. - The 5 C's: Clarity, Confidence, Competence, Communication, & Connection - How can I help my student-athletes in these 5 areas? - Getting into the role: Create a needs list for the program you want to work for. Use social media to share your ideas with your network without fear. ~ Austin Albrecht - Aim to create handshakes for your athletes: help them transition to life after sports by introducing connections. - To gain the trust and support of your athletes, be authentic and open about your own experiences. - Build trust by relating to your athletes and observing them in ways that you do not relate to ~ Austin Albrecht - Relationships cannot be one-sided; emphasize to your athletes that the relationships they build now can serve them for years to come. - Proper research is essential to finding the right people to speak to your athletes and assessing how their message will resonate with them. - Meet the athletes where they are. ~ Reggie Lane - You cannot just expect to SELL something to your athletes; you have to gauge their interests. What specifically do they want to learn about? - Having a leadership class for incoming freshmen and/or transfers to get them on the same page and integrate them into the culture of this program. - When programming, prioritize creating something that is intentional and inspired, rather than unintentional and uninspired. - WHY do you want to be in this role? "I want to prevent what happened to me," and "Too many people have failed in this system." - Extend the conversation of the connections you make; build relationship equity. ~ Lori S. Robinson, Ph.D. - Be honest with yourself: Are you truly prepared for this role? Or are you just chasing a title. - Be humble. Build these skills over time before you pursue that ideal role. - Understand the difference between a LinkedIn connection and a genuine relationship; not everyone can speak to your experience.
