What makes someone a leader in corporate world? Is it the communication skill or domain expertise or hierarchy / role? My experience says it is the "trust" that makes someone a leader. If a person can't be trusted, he/she can't lead. Leadership is not a position or designation. While their communication skills help in convincing others, domain expertise gets respect and the role gives authority. But the #trust is the X factor and beyond these attributes. Are companies doing enough to train leaders to be great managers, it’s amazing anyone that has climbed through the ranks to be a manager or director BUT are they being guided to help nurture and develop the next leaders that will take over? I can only say from experience how VITAL having a decent manager is to have longevity with in employment and loyalty to the business… #foodforthought
