Establishing good decision-making processes is key for any organization. Here are four simple principles to guide you: ➡️ Clear Strategy: Everyone should know the company’s direction. ➡️ Set Boundaries: Clearly define what not to do. ➡️ Rely on Facts: Make decisions based on evidence. ➡️ Allow Mistakes: Sometimes, a slow decision is worse than an imperfect one. These principles help build a more agile and informed business. Watch the full video, link in the comments.

We put an end to expensive 3rd party subscription costs for your business | ⚙Automation Expert ⚙| Helping your business increase profits 📈 and decrease costs📉 in as little as 8 weeks
🚨 Don't replace your existing systems! No really, don't! I often get business owners telling me it seems daunting to implement a new system because the business is already busy and the upheaval would be catastrophic. Well, I agree! Instead here are some tips: ✅ Look at the things your existing systems don't do 📈 Your spreadsheets and emails are the clues 🙋♀️ Ask your team what frustrates them (and you) 🤷♂️ Do you have to create management information by hand? 📧 Do you have to email updates to your customers? 👶 Is onboarding new customers a challenge? We can help you identify the gaps and there's probably a small project that would supercharge your business without a complete overhaul of your business. It's all about minimising how much change is required at each step, and maximising your return on investment. That builds buy in, engagement, and desired to drive more change from within the team, at which point larger projects can be really successful. However, we still recommend a step by step, iterative (agile), approach to improving your systems and processes, one bite at a time. 🐘 If you try to eat an elephant in one go, you'll fail and you might be very sick! Also don't plan too far ahead. Have a vision, but plan short term projects that get you quicker wins and move you towards that vision. Dream big, but don't try and get there too fast! ⛳️ Think of a golf drive. If you are at the tee and you have 300yds to drive, a 1º deviation in your swing could change where the ball lands by 10s if not 100s of metres. You're really unlikely to accurately hit your target. If you're at the edge of a green and you've got 2m to go, a putt with a 1º deviation will only be a matter of centimetres. 🐇 It's the same with business improvement. We can't see further out than about 6-8 weeks, and projects bigger than that are too hard to get your head around. So keep it small, keep it understood, and move slower to go faster. 🐢

I attended Marty Cagan’s Transformed (the book is just out) workshop in London. Was a blast. Highly recommended to anyone who has the opportunity and is interested to learn how companies can get the best out of technology to create products customers love and work for the business. My main takeaways: - The principles and concepts of the product model are simple and common sense to anyone who has the interest of customers and their business at heart. - The product model should come naturally to those who start a new tech powered business from scratch. - For the rest, no matter the size of the company and the industry, there are proven tactics how to move to the product model from whatever is going on, e.g. IT is an internal service of the company to deliver what various businesses units may order. - The shift to the product model takes time but benefits should quickly be visible. It requires dramatic changes across a company, including how budgets are made and allocated, expert coaching of staff, heavy stakeholders management and dealing with internal politics, the benefits for the business are obvious: gain more focus and leverage technology to better serve customers while driving the business, all while better managing internal resources and lower overall costs. - To make the shift, the support of executives is paramount. - Watch out for the process disease, and the waterfall projects wrapped and marketed as agile. Scale people, not processes. I feel, I am on a mission 😄 It starts with winning hearts and minds.
