Grateful to the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) (NICHD) for their continued support, and this grant to advance the clinical development of our novel intravaginal ring, DARE-PTB1. At Daré, we’re committed to addressing persistent unmet needs in women’s health and preterm birth is a large category that could benefit from new treatment options to protect women and babies - the World Health Organization estimates that globally, 13.4 million babies were born preterm in 2020 (before 37 weeks of gestation) and that complications from preterm birth are the leading cause of death among children under 5 years of age. We're proud to be working with Ladder to implement the Surviving Adolescence Parenting Program. Now that the first round of parents have graduated, the results speak for themselves! ⭐ 100% of parents believe that their relationship with their child improved. ⭐ 100% of parents feel more confident in opportunities to connect with their child. ⭐ 100% of parents felt the Surviving Adolescence program provided them with the relevant tools to build their relationship with their family. When parents were asked to describe the program using one word, words including 'helpful', 'informative', 'caring', 'involved', 'empowering', 'safe space' and 'calm' were mentioned.

Did you catch the WKYC news segment featuring a community health worker (CHW), Fonda McLaine, and her client, Nadine Head, discussing "Addressing Cardiometabolic Health Inequities by Early Prevention in the Great Lakes Region" (ACHIEVE GreatER)? This research project, funded by the National Institutes of Health, is a multi-stakeholder partnership among Better Health Partnership, Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals, Wayne State University and the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), operating in both Cleveland and Detroit. The goal of ACHIEVE GreatER is to reduce cardiovascular complications and hospitalizations for Black patients living in public housing, and who are at risk of heart disease, by improving blood pressure, lipid, and glucose targets. The project, which seeks to determine the impact grassroots efforts can have to address cardiovascular health disparities, pays for community health workers, nurses and care coordinators to work with clients living in CMHA units and coordinate their care with clinical providers and other community resources. Better Health Partnership (BHP) is partnering with University Hospitals to offer a sustainable model for funding CHWs beyond the 5-year grant cycle via the Better Health Pathways HUB. I am proud to announce that I will be matriculating into Mercer University School of Medicine this Fall! From the age of 10, I knew that I wanted to be a physician. Through volunteering at the Children's hospital, witnessing my father live with Lupus and completing a CDC fellowship, I have developed a deeper interest in the field of health and Medicine.
