There are a lot of parts of government contracting that can be stressful. Do you have the bandwidth to support an extra proposal? Can you recruit those other 10 non-Key Personnel in under 30 days after the award? Are you reporting correctly on your prime contracts? The hardest part in my opinion? Knowing when a deal is going to come in and forecast that for the business to take action on. Forecasting in any industry is challenging. Some people overcomplicate things and put more sales stages in their CRM trying to find the area where deals are stalling. It's unnecessary but I get the sentiment. Frankly, I don't have a silver bullet, it's an area I'm still mastering. But I do know that getting in front of an opportunity and keeping the agency engaged with you through the life of the acquisition process exponentially improves your forecasting accuracy. An engaged government team that wants your solution will be as open and transparent as they can be to help. This is the GIF of a guy who has zero idea when his deals are coming. #govcon #sellingtothegovernment
