By following these preventative measures, we can mitigate the adverse effects of heatwaves and promote well-being for all. 1. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to prevent dehydration. 2. Avoid sugary or caffeinated beverages. 3. Spend time in air-conditioned or well-ventilated spaces, especially during the hottest parts of the day. 4. Use fans or cool towels to lower body temperature if air conditioning isn't available. 5. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing in light colours to reflect sunlight and heat. 6. Protect skin with hats and sunglasses, and consider using sunscreen to prevent sunburn. 7. Minimize outdoor activities, especially strenuous exercise, during peak heat hours, typically from late morning to early evening. #heatwave #risksofheatwave #climatechange
