👀 Look: These four men share a vision – namely to bring compression therapy to the next level! 💪 Last week, our CPO Dr Klemens Schulz and R&D Director Dr Christian Rohrer met Dr. Andrew Cameron (CEO) and Dr. Darren Burke (CTO) of the Irish start-up company FeelTect. FeelTect won the first L&R Accelerator program last autumn. They developed a health device for measuring and monitoring sub bandage pressure during compression therapy, primarily for patients with Venous Lel Ulcers. Dr Klemens Schulz: “Together with FeelTect, we want to shape the future of compression therapy. In the meeting we figured out possible options for a further collaboration between us, e.g. cooperation in clinical studies, healthcare research or trainings.” As a longstanding and highly experienced medical products company, we know all the relevant stages involved in bringing a product to market maturity. Hence, also reimbursement options were discussed among others. #LRMed #compressiontherapy #digitalization #startupcompany #collaboration #futureofhealthcare Picture (from left to right): Andrew Cameron (FeelTect), Klemens Schulz (L&R), Darren Burke (FeelTect) & Christian Rohrer (L&R).

I love this and have sooo many thoughts! 💥 At the core of this is the importance of meaningful occupations. When people can’t do the things they LOVE to do, they lose more than an activity. - They lose part of their identity. - They lose their social circle that they did the activity with, leading to isolation and loneliness. - They lose a stress outlet. - They lose time and space away from their spouse. (And anyone who’s been married knows that we need this for a healthy marriage. 😆) - They definitely lose physical strength and cardiovascular health like Heidi said. Worst of all… - They begin losing hope and a future perspective. They start seeing it as “the beginning of the end” and more easily give up other meaningful activities. I remember overhearing a new OT lecturing a patient about how they “shouldn’t do” some activity anymore because it was “unsafe” and they could get hurt again. The problem was, this activity also brought the person LIFE. It was their passion. How can we so easily tell people to give up their passions and their identities? Oddly enough, that same OT fell off her horse and broke her arm 🤔 My question to her was, “Will you give up riding because it’s unsafe and you could get hurt again?” The answer was no. (It hits different when it’s your passion someone asks you to give up!) Yes, we have to help people be safe, but I’m a huge advocate of allowing people to live life. Educate, provide solutions, and review the risks. Then let people live life and make choices. Afterall, an activity involves risk of injury, but weakness and isolation are very risky too. 🤷🏻♀️
In the end, nobody dies of pain. Do the things you love now, and do them better than before you had pain. That's our mission. Words of wisdom from our founder Heidi Ojha. I’ve recently talked about ecovery, our new Clinical Triage Platform. But how does it work in real life? You can book a free demo to see how our system works (link in comments). But I want to give you an example of what it means for a patient and their journey of care. First, a history of rugby player, Mark: Following a twisted knee and an awkward, valgus trauma landing, Mark had suffered recurring knee pain, instability and clicking. An x-ray at A&E showed no bony injury and was discharged. After several incidents of his knee giving way at work, Mark sought physiotherapy. Despite his best efforts, this was unsuccessful. What are you thinking at this point? Here’s where ecovery came in… Mark was able to submit his history into our form’s algorithm, and it was recommended that he see a knee specialist, specialising in soft tissue knee injuries. Our database was actually able to make 3 suggestions for the area where he lived. Following an assessment by the specialist of choice, and an MRI, Mark was diagnosed with a ruptured ACL, and treatment options were finally explored. This is why the 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, is so important to us. Do you think this platform could help your service to reduce waiting times and associated costs? As always, please feel free to ask any questions in the comments, or by DM.
