What makes TAG Heuer special today? We have our amazing history spanning more than 160 years now, but it is our vision of the future, and the balance between the two that are particularly defining in watchmaking. While it is relatively easy to fire up a laser scanner and CNC an exact copy of a watch that is decades old, or take a clean sheet of paper and design something entirely new, the real art is in blending heritage and modernity. Watches like the glass box Carrera or Monaco Rattrapante are perfectly representations of this. By distilling the key codes of the original icons, taking these elements, and working with the amazing TAG Heuer Institute (our in-house research and development lab) plus our designers and development teams, we can find the best technology of today and tomorrow. To then ingrate these ideas and make a watch which performs at the absolute top of its class while speaking of our past is magic. It’s why as much as I enjoy wearing vintage watches regularly, my day to day go to choices are the reverse panda Carrera glass box (on a classic racing strap and pin buckle) and the Aquaracer Solargraph on a gray NATO, watches that encapsulate this philosophy of being guided by the past to see the future clearly ahead. It’s exciting to see what the future holds for our amazing brand.

🕰️✨ Carbon composites in timepieces - focus on TAG Heuer 🌐🔍
Step aside, grey – the era of black has dawned, and we're talking about the revolutionary carbon balance spring! Back in 2019, TAG Heuer astounded the horology world by introducing the very first carbon balance spring, nestled within the captivating Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T Tourbillon Nanograph.
Behind this groundbreaking feat was the visionary Guy Sémon, the maestro orchestrating TAG Heuer's R&D endeavors at the Institut TAG Heuer. Alongside his exceptional team, Sémon reshaped fundamental elements of mechanical movement, from transmission to the escapement, leaving an indelible mark on watchmaking history.
Now, what sets carbon apart from silicon, the stalwart of watchmaking materials?
Beyond the familiar traits of flexibility, strength, anti-magnetism, and resistance to temperature variations in silicon, carbon takes the spotlight for being even lighter, rendering it resistant to gravity's effects. While not completely immune, TAG Heuer asserts that its impact is near negligible.
Moreover, carbon's exceptionally regular structure ensures perfectly concentric oscillations, translating into enhanced precision, certified by the COSC.
Now, over to you! What are your thoughts on the Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T Tourbillon Nanograph? Drop a comment and share your impressions! ⌚✨
