It was a pleasure for me to present at the #AEDDays2024 on the current #market #opportunities as well as #challenges in the #Aerospace & #Defence Industry as well as on the implications for #Portugal. Key take aways are, for commercial aircraft, as an example: - Commercial a/c will experience strong growth with doubling down on produced a/c until 2030 driven by post-COVID-19 recovery and global GDP growth - However, a multitude of events has overwhelmed the companies in the last years - We see therefore need for action of the aerospace companies along three main dimensions: ramp-up and competitiveness, sustainability, preparation for the next generation of aircraft. One of the advantages of tiltwing aircraft is the fast transition. It takes roughly 10 seconds to go from hover to full wingborn flight. Additionally it already creates lift at the first tiltangle and during transition the power needed reduces immediately. A huge advantage in energy saving respective additional power needed in an emergency. Dufour Aerospace
