🚀 How do I boost my productivity: 1. Prioritizing ruthlessly: Each day, I start by finding tasks that are strongly related to Opesk's business objectives. By prioritizing high-impact projects, I ensure that my efforts are directly contributing to my success. 2. Embracing automation: Repetitive tasks can consume valuable time. That's why I strongly advise using automation tools and scripts wherever possible. Automation allows me to focus on more strategic parts of my projects, such as automating deployment processes and establishing automated tests. 3. Continuous learning: To stay ahead of my goal, it's important to stay educated about changing trends and algorithms. I set aside time each week to learn about the latest technologies and best practices. This continual education not only keeps me fresh, but it also allows me to identify ways to improve my productivity. 4) Breaking things down: Large projects can be overwhelming. To address this, I divide complex jobs into smaller, more manageable parts. This not only helps to sustain momentum, but it also allows for more precise tracking of progress. 5. Effective Collaboration: Communication is essential in teamwork. At Opesk, I make sure that I am always in sync with my coworkers. Some pros to the lab culture [1] of billing hours to specific projects every day: - You can tell if people are serious about asking for your help, because they'll give you a billing code. If they don't, it's explicitly on your own time. It's nice to have that clarity. - It's easier to stop midday and take personal time. I use toggl, clock out, and go chat with someone, take care of an errand, etc. - You can (relatively) easily say, "I do not have time to work on that, sorry." I track everything and know what % of the week I have dedicated to each project I'm on. - Self-directed work on a huge number of options. I've already had 5 leads/opportunities since I joined! Very different from the typical "work on a team/product ad infinitum". [1] Not that kind of lab culture :P and not everyone bills like this. Depends on your role.
