"A culture will emerge whether intended or not. If it’s not one we invest in, it’s one we’ll eventually pay for." What kind of culture do we REALLY want our community to be known for? The truth is, an ideal culture doesn’t just happen because we wish for it—it takes real work and unwavering commitment to bring it to life. Today, we launched our 2nd cohort of LOT Justice Impacted behind the walls. With over 50 men applying, we could only accept 32, plus 6 past graduates returning as peer mentors. The energy and excitement among these men—many of whom have never experienced this kind of investment—was palpable. You could see real hope in their eyes. This work goes far beyond the efforts of a few individuals or organizations. It takes a whole community to truly close the gaps and help these men find and stay on the path to real success. Let’s continue challenging ourselves to lean into the uncomfortable and ensure that EVERYONE has a pathway, a plan, the tools, and a supportive community to thrive. Together, we can make Sioux Falls the best it can be! #LeadersOfTomorrow #CommunityBuilding #InvestOrPay #ABetterYou #LeadershipDevelopment #Think3D

I was honored to receive a scholarship to attend the Out in Tech Leadership Institute, which may help make it possible for me to go to the institute this fall in New York City. However, I still need some help from you- my network and yours - to find a place to stay. I cannot afford to pay for a hotel while I am at the conference. You can help me by: -Sharing my post with contacts who might have a place to stay that is under $100 a night (or better yet, free); -Sharing my post with contacts who might be generous enough to share their hotel points to help me stay in a hotel during the conference. This is a gentle reminder that not everyone in tech makes a fortune, and not everyone works for a company that offers professional development funding. Yet, without these resources, many of us are barred from opportunities that would help us move to roles where there are more resources. #outintech #leadershipdevelopment #professionaldevelopment #accessibility

Another trip around the sun, another leap in leadership. ☀️ As I celebrate another year around the sun today, I find myself reflecting on the journey that has shaped me both as an individual and as a leader at Coastline Equity. With each passing year, the story of my career—intertwined with the growth of our firm—gains new chapters of growth, challenges, and triumphs. From my days as a club kid at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor in San Pedro to serving as the CEO of Coastline Equity, it's been a journey of relentless learning, hundreds of pivots and constant change. My life has been made richer through the support of an incredible team whose dedication is the backbone of our success, partners who share our vision of innovation and excellence, and clients who entrust us with not just properties, but their dreams for better communities and an enduring legacy. On this day, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who’s been a part of my story. Your contributions are the threads that weave our corporate tapestry, vibrant with commitment and a shared purpose to enrich lives through our work in real estate. As I look to the year ahead, I am energized by the potential to further our collective impact and am inspired by the possibilities that lie in the collaboration, creativity, and shared growth. Now, I'm turning the spotlight on you—my network. I'd love to hear about your own journey. How have you grown over the past year? What lessons and successes have shaped your story? Let's inspire one another by sharing our experiences of growth and aspiration. #Leadership #GrowthMindset #CommunityBuilding

Empowering Future Leaders! I had the privilege of leading a debate session at St. Thomas Institute for Science and Technology's 7-day Special Camp as an NSS volunteer. The topic: "What is the most important factor for success in life?" The students were grouped into four teams, each representing Power, Money, Love, and Education. The task: convince the audience that their assigned topic is the key to achieving success. The debate was intense, with each team presenting compelling arguments. Team Power emphasized the importance of influence and authority. Team Money highlighted the role of financial stability. Team Love stressed the value of relationships and emotional well-being. And Team Education demonstrated the power of knowledge and skills. As the debate concluded, I summarized the key takeaways: all four aspects - Power, Money, Love, and Education - are essential for achieving holistic success. It's not a zero-sum game, where one aspect outweighs the others. Rather, a balanced approach, where each element complements the others, is the recipe for true success. Kudos to the students for their thought-provoking insights and energetic participation! #NSSVolunteer #DebateSession #SuccessFactors #LeadershipDevelopment #STIST #YouthEmpowerment*

Having the vision, strength, grit, opportunity, freedom, insight, introspection, and blessing to continue to develop/reinvent ourselves and refine our paths forward is as true a gift as it is a challenge. And I love to be a part of these conversations. On February 28th, my colleagues, board members, sponsors, partners, and I --from National Grid, Capital One, and NAAAP NY-- held a sold-out event at National Grid's Brooklyn headquarters for our Year of the Dragon professional panel. We couldn't have asked for a more rewarding night of insight and interactions while meeting new members, friends, colleagues, and industry leaders. Key takeaways most valued by our audience included: --> Identifying your own core values and beliefs to optimize your career pivot and explorations --> Amplifying your executive presence, as well as self-advocacy skills --> Understanding the challenges and risks associated with the path of entrepreneurship --> How to approach salary and benefits package negotiations during each phase of growth --> Rewards of stepping up to be either a Mentee or Mentor Cheers to continuous growth and expansion, no matter which stage of our professional and personal journeys we find ourselves in. #Reinvention #SelfDevelopment #LeadershipGrowth #ProfessionalVision Lori C.
