PM Modi launches ONGC’s first oil taker ‘Swarna Sindhu’('स्वर्ण सिंधु')from KG Project The KG block KG-DWN-98/2, situated off the coast of Andhra Pradesh, commenced oil production in January, using a FPSO mechanism. Krishna Godavari Deepwater Project: Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremoniously launched the taker 'Swarna Sindhu', marking the first voyage of crude oil from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltds newly inaugurated Krishna Godavari deepwater project. The initiative, undertaken in Begusarai, Bihar, marks a significant stride in India's oil and gas sector, with #ONGC projecting a 7 % increase in national production and its peak. The KG block KG-DWN-98/2, situated off the coast of Andhra Pradesh, commenced oil production in January, using a Floating Production and Storage Offloading (FPSO) mechanism. Presently yielding approximately 12,000-12,500 barrels of oil per day, the FPSO, operated by Shapoorji Pallonji Energy Private Limited (Shapoorji Pallonji Group), efficiently manages storage and offloading operations. Shapoorji Pallonji's FPSO Armada Sterling V,touted as the largest floating installation in The Indian subcontinent, played a pivotal role in the project's success. With a processing capacity exceeding 50,000 barrels of oil per day and 3 million standard cubic meters per day(MMSCMD) of gas, alongside a storage capacity of 700,000 barrels, the FPSO stands as a testament to India's growing prominence on the global stage. In a separate development, PM Modi | inaugurated ONGC's Mumbai High North OilField Redevelopment Phase IV, Heera Redevelopment Phase-III, and phase-II development in Krishna Godavari Nagayalanka NELP Block. These projects, collectively representing an investment of over Rs 41,000 crore, underline India's commitment to using advanced technology for energy production. The KG-DWN 98/2 Deepwater Oil Field M,characterised by its technological complexity, aims to achieve a peak gas production of about 10 MMSCMD and oil production of 45,000BOPD (Barrels of Oil per day).

Experts who were on the Board of ONGC have precipitated the current crisis in Exploration and Production. More truths shall come out as the development of KG-DOWN-98/2 crosses the threshold. Resources up by 49% failing discovery and reserves failing recovery - the sordid plight of ONGC.10% import reduction is now upside down. But the authors of the failures are being patronized...

INDIA OFFERS MUMBAI OFFSHORE DISCOVERED OIL GAS FIELDS 1. The Fields carry liberalized terms under New Policy Initiatives such Hydrocarbon Exploration & Licensing Policy (HELP) and Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP), Discovered Small Field Policy (DSF). 2. Oil and Gas have been already discovered in these fields by ONGC. The entrepreneur (awardee) will not have to make any reimbursement to the ONGC against the exploration or drilling expenses or asset created in past. No signature, or discovery bonus is payable. 3. Bids for three fields have been invited through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) by DGH, the technical arm of MOPNG. Bidding closes on 16 August 2024. 4. The biddable parameters are number of wells to be drilled and the percentage of revenue to be shared with the Government. Both parameters carry equal weight 50:50. 5. The Discovered fields carry a lower exploration risk with reasonable return. 6. However, the economics will depend more on the value of the biddable parameters put in their bids after technical and financial due diligence by the investors and entrepreneurs. 7. 100% FDI allowed in OALP and HELP. But no Global giants such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, TOTAL, Petronas, Equinor, Petrobras, or Eni have shown any interest in any previous bidding rounds, though these companies are or were earlier operating in India. Only one exception is BP in joint venture with Reliance. Reasons for their apathy need to be identified. #exploration #petroleum #oalp #mopng #ongc #dghindia #oil #gas #oilandgas #investments #oilindustry #ExxonMobil #Chevron #Shell #TOTAL #Petronas #Equinor #Petrobras #Eni #BP #Reliance #ril

H.P. / H.T. reservoirs of Deen Dayal Gas field development could not be monetized by G.S.P.C.L. so it was given to O.N.G.C. as it requires special equipment, technology, as well as expertise to monetize it. Hence collaboration is required, I fill other H.P./ H.T. reservoirs can be clubbed together to produce in a collaborative way.
Seven years after acquiring Deen Dayal Gas field, ONGC is now looking for partners to revive this field.

Oil & Gas Management || Oil & Gas Industry Fundamentals || Market Analysis || Strategic Marketing Planning || Product & Service Knowledge || Risk Management || Oil & Gas Marketing
Recently Oil India Limited has reached a milestone by collaborating with a Norway company Dolphin Drilling. Few years back OIL had bagged two Offshore Blocks in Andaman namely AN-OSHP 2018/1 and AN-OSHP 2018/2 under OALP. OIL was looking for an advanced drilling technology which was fortunately fulfilled by Dolhon Drilling. In the upcoming months, the Production of Oil and Gas is going to be seen soon in the Andaman Offshore region. This discovery would cater energy demand for atleast 70 years of Oil and Gas to India, thus promoting self sufficiency and reducing reliance on energy rich Nations. Dolphin Drilling has deployed it's advanced Drilling unit namely Blackford Unit which is an advanced drilling rig or unit. Now India is focusing much on domestic Production so as to promote sustainability and eyeing on reducing CAD. Similarly ONGC had also Offshore Blocks in Andaman Offshore Basin, fast tracking it's Production activities as well. 🇮🇳 # energy demand✨️ # sustainability # growth and development.

One of our recently completed projects for ONGC, the national oil company of India, was a pre feed study for an ultradeep-water gas field at a depth of 2,850m beneath the sea surface. When it commences production it is set to be the deepest producing gas field in the world. The work we conducted took place in 3 stages: Stage 1: During this work we reviewed 14 potential options for technical, cost, schedule and economic viability stand points. Developing a cost accuracy for each of these options of ±40% - effectively Class 5 AACE estimates[1] - of the final installed cost; this included development and operating costs. Stage 2: We took these options and considered in further detail the most viable options derived from the selection process implemented in stage 1. Each of these options was considered in more depth to further confirm their viability. Definition was developed to give a cost accuracy ±25% - effectively Class 4 AACE estimates. Stage 3: We detailed the preferred Option derived from stage 2. Definition was developed to give a cost accuracy ±15% - effectively a Class 3 AACE estimates. All aspects of the design were covered during the assessment including: Drilling; Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF); Pipelines; Floating Production Vessels; Topsides Facilities and Onshore Facilities; Decomissioning and Abandonment. Key aspects of the work were to: 1. To test the technical viability of the work, that in all aspects the critical measures of being able to install and operate in the 2,850m water depth were met. 2. Ensure the selected solution was cost effective and deliverable in a reasonable time frame. 3. Finally ensure the economic viability of the preferred selection; it had to meet economic selection criteria set by the Client #bayphase #oilandgas #deepwater [1] See the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) International Recommended Practice No. 18R-97, Cost Estimate Classification System –As Applied in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction for the Process Industries TCM Framework: 7.3 – Cost Estimating and Budgeting, Rev.
