ATTENTION! DO NOT MIX YOUR SHACKLE PINS! According to ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) B30.26 Rigging Hardware, replacement parts, such as pins, shall meet or exceed the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications. Shackle manufacturers do not condone using a different manufacturer’s pin in their shackle body. That means you can’t mix and match shackle pins to bodies. And never use a homemade pin that did not come with the shackle. Do you know which pins to pair with what shackles? This identification guide provides several examples of what to look for on shackles and pins to make sure you're pairing the correct components before making an overhead lift!
