We’ve recently partnered with NTR plc to optimise the operational efficiency of the Trattberget wind farm in Sweden, focusing on addressing winter challenges while driving long-term performance improvements. Through a comprehensive Site Performance Assessment (SPA) and tailored digital solutions, we’ve worked to improve stability and efficiency across the site. With the implementation of live data monitoring and mass imbalance correction, we’re already seeing positive results and expect further improvements over time. 🇳🇱We’ve officially begun site investigations for our Zeevonk 2 GW offshore wind farm in the North Sea, in partnership with Fugro. The project will integrate an up to 1 GW electrolyser project in the Port of Rotterdam. Using a fleet of advanced survey vessels and cutting-edge technology, our team will survey over 7,600 kilometers of seabed. This 24/7 operation, which kicked off earlier this month, is set to run continuously until April 2025. The team will gather real-time data at 192 locations across the site, with water depths ranging from 6 to 50 meters. This milestone marks another step forward in realising one of the most ambitious offshore wind and green hydrogen projects in Europe, with the Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Vattenfall Zeevonk JV.

This project aims to accelerate the development of a next-generation floating offshore wind platform design that addresses some critical industry challenges: 1️⃣ High production and installation costs 2️⃣ Complex supply chain logistics 3️⃣ Limited availability of suitable sites 4️⃣ Environmental impact of traditional platforms The new platform technology tested during the project will enable more cost-competitive floating offshore wind projects over the coming decades. The patented platform design improves turbine stability by reducing pitch and balance movement in high wind, wave and tidal conditions, while its modular design allows for more cost-effective fabrication. https://lnkd.in/dud5qiBY #offshorewind #floatingoffshorewind #windenergy #offshoretechnology #floatingwind #offshoreenergy #sustainabletechnology

Today we launched results from the North Sea Basin Analysis at WindEnergy Hamburg! Main takeaways are: ✅ To be ready for the peak, development of ports must start NOW! ✅ Norway can alleviate pressure on the build out of offshore wind with a wide range of ports and significant offshore experience! ✅ Although Norway has a strong starting point with its good conditions for ports and highly experienced offshore industry, there are limitations to overcome in the form of limited space, often short quays, and competition with current activities! ✅ First, Norway can utilize quick wins in the south by supporting bottom fixed projects in the North Sea basin! Secondly, diversify existing offshore skillset to develop floating wind manufacturing and installation 📥The report will be available for download last week in October on Innovasjonnorge.no #northsea #offshorewind #ports Innovation Norway Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) Royal HaskoningDHV Leon Lammers

Great news from VARD! 🔈 Our Norwegian subsidiary signed a contract for the design and construction of one new state-of-the-art Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) for the Norwegian company REM. Scheduled for delivery in late 2026, the new vessel will be the third of its kind built by VARD for REM, designed to provide support during the construction, operation and maintenance of offshore wind farms worldwide. Thanks to the VARD 4 19 design, the vessel will combine versatility, safety, comfort and superior functionality, offering highly flexible and fuel-efficient operation through diesel-electric and battery hybrid propulsion system. In addition, sustainability and energy efficiency will be promoted by setting aside large areas inside the vessel for future upgrades or conversion to zero emission energy sources. With VARD and Rem Offshore, our mission for sustainable innovation continues, aiming to bring a future of green and renewable energy on board. 🌳 #Fincantieri #FutureOnBoard #OffshoreWind #WindEnergy #Sustainability

🚴♂️ It's not every day that we see WindFloat®'s and bicycles combined in one interview, but Enlit Europe's provocative challenge was as unique as it was pleasant. Thank you David Codina, Samuel Ríos Costas, Fernando Costa, and Fábio Pinheiro for supporting Clara’s words in this piece despite your demanding, but great work offshore. And special thanks to Pamela Largue, Ross Hastie, and Katharina Meller for the opportunity to demonstrate how things are done on the O&M side of floating wind projects. WindFloat® projects have demonstrated the technical viability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of floating wind technology. They have shown excellent performance and availability. This success is attributed not only to the top-notch engineering behind the technology but also to effective operations and maintenance services. #300X30 #PrinciplePower #windfloat #renewableenergy #offshorewind #floatingwind #netzero
🌊 Welcome to Viana do Castelo and the O&M base for the WindFloat Atlantic Project in Portugal! The key objective for operating and maintaining floating wind platforms is availability. Ensuring minimal downtime for project owners requires a strong planning effort. This spans the full lifecycle of floating wind projects, from optimal implementation of WindFloat® technology, and successful operations and maintenance services. But what do these services consist of in practice? Maria Clara Moura Santos engaged in a friendly conversation with Enlit Europe for ENLIT on the Road to explain how Principle Power has supported developers operating floating wind projects such as the WindFloat Atlantic Project in Portugal. Special thanks to the ENLIT team: Pamela Largue, Ross Hastie, and Katharina Meller.
