Many of you may remember Sawtify, my audiobook creation company. Others may also remember my other venture, Kalaam, the Islamic audio app. In business and entrepreneurship, one of the most important traits is agility; a willingness to pivot where necessary. After so much research, deliberation, trial and error, and communicating with test users, I can now announce the final iteration of this journey: Sawti. Think of Sawti as a marriage between the two above-mentioned companies: it is the world’s first Islamic audiobook app. I am also excited to announce that Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi is co-founder and Global Brand Ambassador. He will be narrating his own sīrah, and it will be exclusive to Sawti We have created a handful of professional Islamic audiobooks, but we want to create a hub where every single Islamic audiobook resides. A go-to place for Muslims, by Muslims where our voices may be heard without being banned, silenced, or restricted by mainstream media. As many of you know, building an app is extremely arduous and expensive. To make this work, we’re turning to you for support. We’ve launched this LaunchGood campaign to give everyone an opportunity to sponsor their favourite book’s adaptation into audio. You may sponsor the creation of a book, or donate to the development of the app itself. #Expat2Citizen_series #Essentialism While packing for our move, I was listening to some audiobooks that helped me define what's truly essential. The concept of essentialism allows you to invest your energy in what really matters, which meant letting go of many non-essential things. It was challenging, especially with the expensive items or those tied to memories. By asking ourselves two questions: 1. What are my priorities? 2. Is this essential? We stayed on track, investing our energy where it mattered most and creating mental space to focus on our family's essential needs. We applied this approach to everything, from packing furniture to organizing our finances. As a result, our suitcases contained everything we needed and were lighter than those we pack for a typical two-week vacation. Initially, embracing essentialism isn't easy, but it brings immense priceless freedom...
