How To Turn Setbacks Into a Thriving Remote Career! Earlier this year, while working as an online customer service rep, my days started before sunrise. I’d leave home at 6 AM to beat the traffic, get to work by 8 AM, and return by 7 PM, too drained to do anything for myself. I felt stuck. I remember thinking, This can’t be my lifestyle. It’s not my purpose. One evening, stuck in traffic coming from Wuse 2 to Lugbe , I realized, This isn’t the life I want. I wanted freedom, balance, and a career aligned with my goals and faith. I knew I had to make a change. Even without a clear backup plan, I decided to transition to a remote career. It wasn’t easy—I had no idea where to start. But challenges like these teach us resilience. I prayed, leaned on my faith, and sought out platforms like ALX to upskill and opened doors to a virtual career. Today, I’m a thriving Virtual Assistant, helping businesses streamline operations and achieve success remotely. If you’re in a tough spot, know that challenges can be stepping stones. Stay resilient, keep learning, and trust your journey. ———————————————————— Are you ready to elevate your business with a proactive, detail-oriented Virtual Assistant? Cheers to all 9 to 5 workers You’re putting in all the works
How was your weekend Hopefully it wasn’t stressful as mine 🥵
It’s Monday again Happy new week LinkedIn 😁
I remember when I was a 9-5er, it was actually 7-6pm or sometimes 7-7 Cos I had to resume latest by 7:30am and leave work around 6pm or past 6 Glad you got the freedom you wanted, Ogeh Fortune
Honestly it's no longer 9-5, I'm currently on a 5:30am- 7:15pm (traffic inclusive) It can be draining ehn, I can't wait for when I get my Freedom as well So happy for your growth Ogeh Fortune 💕
Sometimes, it takes all these challenges to take a step back and to decide enough is enough
I'm glad you took advantage of the opportunity that made a difference in your career. Thanks for sharing Ogeh Fortune
I'm so happy for you, Ogeh😊 I can totally relate with the stress embedded in 9-5. Sometimes it's not always 9-5, it was more like 6-7 for you.
This is so relatable, the stress was something else.
