From the moment Carl Rehnborg founded Nutrilite more than 80 years ago, he used sustainable farming practices, ensuring he always knew where his ingredients came from and how they were grown. This began Amway's journey of sustainability and we remain determined to find ways to continue deepening our impact. This legacy of accountability and care shapes Amway’s approach as we seek to address common misconceptions about supplement safety. According to the 2024 “Habits and Healthspan” survey, nearly half (47%) of U.S. adults aged 18 to 70 mistakenly believe their vitamins and supplements are FDA-approved. Amway sees this as a pivotal opportunity to continue setting new standards in product safety, transparency, and sustainability.
Survey findings also show that 87% of Americans want to know exactly what they’re putting into their bodies. This is where companies need to step up and implement practices like ingredient traceability to ensure quality from seed to supplement and give consumers access to this information to help them make informed choices about their health. The new Amway Tracing Tool was created in direct response to the growing demand for product transparency. This first-of-its-kind tool provides next-level product and ingredient traceability into how products for the Nutrilite and Artistry brands are made.
Consumers increasingly value transparency and integrity, not only in what’s on their labels but also in where and how ingredients are sourced.
Within the Amway Tracing Tool, users select the product they’re interested in and a full list of steps will appear, each of which reveals an important detail about how the product was created including the science, ingredients, manufacturing and packaging details, and sustainability considerations. What’s more, as the user taps through each step, a map moves them to where that step took place. Each detail thoughtfully demonstrates how these Amway products are clean, safe, and responsibly made.
At Amway, our Nutrilite brand upholds the practices of regenerative agriculture—sustainable farming methods that prioritize soil health through water conservation, limited soil disturbance, and reduced chemical use, among other harmful agricultural inputs—offering customers confidence in the safety of our products. By sharing this level of detail, we build trust and set new benchmarks in the industry for plant-based protein powders, multivitamins, and supplements. This approach places ingredient quality and environmental protection over maximum crop yield.
The future of the health and wellness industry is one where safety, sustainability, and product integrity go hand in hand. As we continue to innovate our wellness offering, I am proud to lead the Amway family in setting the bar for consumer transparency and safety.
