A Humbling Lesson in Complacency(OVERCONFIDENCE) I still remember my high school days, where I excelled in Chemistry and earned the nickname "ABABIO"., I was the overall best graduating student in chemistry. Fast forward to university, I thought I had it all figured out. "Chemistry? No problem, I've got this!" But, I made a critical mistake - I didn't study for my exams, thinking my past success would carry me through. And, I failed. Woefully. That experience taught me a valuable lesson: complacency has no place in growth. No matter how skilled or knowledgeable you are, every new level requires preparation and effort. Don't assume you know it all. Stay humble, stay hungry, and always be ready to learn and adapt. #LessonLearned #ComplacencyKills #GrowthMindset #Chemistry #UniversityLife"

The formula to a stable classroom and the equation for growth cannot always be predetermined. This is what my years at CGU have taught me. Each day brings an opportunity for new experiments at our threshold, and each day we get to balance elements differently! Each class calls for a different calculation, and many a times, we need to learn from the students (about them and about the world around them) before we can teach. Experience counts, but as teachers, we should never be limited to our experiences in the past. Especially in a subject like Chemistry, where opportunities of interaction happen to be plenty! Our Education System sucks !! Now, I've got another reason to say this 👇 I just ended my Grade 11 With the chemistry exam at the end. And, here's some serious and disturbing thing I wanted to share... 👉 My chemistry syllabus included chapters of everything - Physical chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, and Organic chemistry. From, what are atoms? to what are Hydrocarbons? ... All the theoretically important things. We were made to 'learn' everything. Or, 'cram' is the word I should say. But, a chapter which was based on real world things.... Environmental Chemistry 🌱 It was deleted ❌ In fact, it's the most easy to understand chapter. And, something that should be studied by everyone. But still, the Central Board of Secondary Education thought that it's unnecessary. So they deleted it. To reduce the 'burden' on students. Okay, I understand, CBSE just wanted to include the 'essential topics'. But, isn't this essential too ❓ And, adding this so-easy-to-know chapter would've not even added any 'burden'. Rather, I'd say, they probably deleted it because it was of no importance academically. I don't know when things will change. Because here, the whole notion of 'education' is flawed. Education is just synonymous to what grades one gets in exam, what college one gets into, what degree one has. 👨🎓 Imparting real world skills and values is still missing. I want to see things change. Any opinions you want to share? Comments are open 👇 💡💡 #education #environment #chemistry #india #cbse #science #learning #environmentalscience
