Ever promise a Ferrari and deliver a wagon? 🚗➡️🛻 I’ve been there. Misalignment between vision and execution can turn sleek dreams into uninspired realities. Here are 7 pitfalls that derail projects: 1. Unclear expectations 2. Poor communication 3. Unrealistic goals 4. Lack of accountability 5. Insufficient resources 6. Scope creep The good news? These are avoidable. Here’s what I’ve learned: 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆. 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺. 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀. 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱. Don’t let bold promises turn into wagons. Equip your team to deliver the Ferrari your customers dream of. Meeting Paul Rosche, the legendary ‘Nocken-Paule’ (Camshaft Paul), some years before his passing at the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring was an unforgettable experience. Known for his brilliance in camshaft design during his tenure at BMW Group, his legacy is a benchmark of innovation and expertise in the automotive industry. Meeting him felt like stepping back into a time when technical skill and bold decisions defined leadership—the cradle of true innovation. Sadly, much of that spirit has faded, replaced by marketing, finance, and risk analysts, many of whom lack hands-on experience or an emotional connection to the product—the macina 🚘. This shift erodes the soul of many once-iconic brands, focusing more on shareholder returns than long-term vision, value and customer experience. The result? Generic, replaceable products losing relevance for the clients. While there are exceptions (kudos to those pushing the envelope), the industry desperately needs the spirit of innovation, passion and risk-taking that Paul embodied. Paul Rosche’s aura of greatness remains an inspiration to me and, I hope, to generations to come. What do you think? Are today’s brands too focused on short-term gains? --- Photo Credit: BMW Motorsport #AutomotiveInnovation #BMWMotorsport #PaulRosche #Leadership

Have you ever watched the movie "Ford vs Ferrari"? It is highly recommended for Marketers and Engineers Because it teaches you how to be A Great One. Great Marketers constantly observe and search for what makes Customers tick, and Great Engineers never feels the satisfaction because for them, there is always room for improvement in Product. Just like when US won Le mans for the first time in history beating Classy Ferrari, Great Products are born when Bold and Unbureaucratic Marketers work side by side with Stubborn-for-quality and Relentless Engineers. #marketing #fordvsferrari

Ferrari's fireworks at Vegas 🎇 🏎️ 💨 Carlos Sainz celebrates a hard-fought podium. 🏎️ 💨 Charles Leclerc "settled" for 4^ after a spirited start. Both fought for the team’s constructors' Championship, but clearly had personal stakes in the race. 🏁 This scenario is the perfect textbook Prisoner’s Dilemma: ❓Should drivers cooperate for the team’s gain or prioritize individual "glory"? In business, we face similar dilemmas, with cross-departmental collaboration. If everyone works together, the company thrives. But if one team acts selfishly, they may win temporarily, while overall performance suffers. In a real case scenario, the optimal cooperation is not always possible, leading to selfish behaviours as second best desirable options (according to literature). I told my team that their best wasn't good enough. The reason I told them this is because as a team we don't believe in something being the best. We operate on the Japanese concept of Kaizen. The long and short of this is the concept of continual improvement; no best only better. When you change your mindset to that of continuous improvement you don't get a chance to rest on your laurels. You're always looking for a way to improve results and performance, which in turn creates a positive internal challenge. A prime example of this is when Nissan created a 3 cylinder engine that weighed only 88lbs (40kg) and produced an eye watering 400hp. To put that in perspective that is the same amount of engine power as a 2017 Lamborghini Huracan Spyder or a 2017 Bugatti Veyron. Here's the thing, this engine was built in 2014! Here's the link to prove it: https://lnkd.in/erAmXV8s This engine was created 10 years ago, imagine what the team are working on now?! How are you helping to develop and improve your overall team performance? Let me know in the comments below.
