Have you ever found yourselves in the Meta rollercoaster? For those of you that haven't, it looks a little like this: - Performance looks good, increase budgets - Performance decreases, decrease budgets - Rinse and repeat It's like taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back every few days and it's extremely frustrating. For the longest time, I found myself caught in this endless cycle. That was until I realized the importance of promotional periods. You see common thoughts are that having frequent promo periods devalue your brand. I used to think this too. But I was drinking my own koolaid. My brand was not that IMPORTANT. The moment I started running more frequent promo's my business started to grow month on month. You know why? It's called emptying the funnel. Similar to when it rains for days on end and a dam's capacity begins to reach it's limit or worse even overflows (when incremental spend inverts) our marketing efforts face the same cyclical process. The truth is a good portion of people are always looking for a deal and will not take action until a promotion is announced. But a lot of brands sub $1,000,000/year have no idea how to properly launch a sale. They simply think it's offering a percentage off their hero products...WRONG. To properly execute a sale, you must understand how to create demand, offer consequences and draw a line in the sand. Without this, your business is doomed to fall into the Meta rollercoaster - suspended in stagnant purgatory for good. Want to learn how we run our promos? Q: What are the easiest products to launch on Meta? A: Impulse buys. But they're the hardest to turn into a full brand with a wide assortment. Q: What is the best category for launching a brand? A: Fashion products. But they're the hardest to scale within the Meta ecosystem. Q: What is the easiest product to scale? A: Supplements & other "habit forming" products. But they're the hardest to launch on Meta. Q: What are the easiest prod...oh, wait... There is no "silver bullet" in terms of product or category when it comes to Meta ads. And there is no metric or account structure that is "right" or works for 100% of brands. Most importantly: Meta ads (or any ad channel) is just one piece of the puzzle. If you want to build a sustainable business, you need to think about unit economics, product assortment and retention/LTV.

Trend I'm Noticing Across Portfolio of Brands Under Mangement Brands that we're spending anywhere from 1.5k - 2k/day in adspend, we saw a minor pullback after Meta algo bug. But, we've timed collection drops to follow seasonality changes (Spring, Easter, Back to school, etc). Essentially this floats returning customers back on site while allowing us to ride the wave when pushing these collections on the front-end. Other brands that are less established, We're laying the foundations with an evergreen offer that can run year-round and attract TOF net-new customers while realigning with Founder to setup proper collection drops following Seasonality calendar. Ads should only amplify your business. It should not be the reason why your business fails.

Having coffee with a founder who is prepping to enter the US, this key point stuck with her: As Aussies we love: 1. A beautiful brand 2. High quality in our products 3. Sustainability. What American consumers are going to resonate with around your brand: 1. Value - pricing is crucial to drive that first trial. If you don't want to discount what are the value add promotions you can execute? 2. Convenience - fast, free shipping is the norm in the US. How can you deliver at speed, whether from your 3PL or through retail access to your product? 3. Celebrity - this will drive brand awareness and scale faster than Meta could ever try. It doesn't have to cost you 6-figures! Be scrappy.
