Your next conference speaker? ‘Highly Commended’ at the 2024 Speaker Awards: BEST LIVE SPEAKER and BEST STORYTELLER. As a behavioural psychologist & author, I speak about relationships as the primary workplace currency.
THEY DIDN'T EXPECT THAT! ------------------ Facilitating the leadership conference for the second year in a row, I wanted to do something spectacular. With a cherished leadership charter with its own six values, the group learned how to: 1. Be clear on what to do (break the board with your hand) 2. Know how to do it (learn & understand the safe way to achieve this) 3. Develop purpose & maintain focus (it's about resolve, NOT power) 4. Support, support, support (become a cheerleader for your team) 5. FOLLOW THROUGH! (go the extra inch... it breaks when you push THROUGH it) Fran's post below captures the energy of 70 or more leaders demonstrating utter trust in themselves, the process - and each other! #leadership #purpose #missionimpossible
Today was our annual Leadership Conference at Bournemouth and Poole College. As a leadership team we were reflecting on what it means to trust as a leader, and how we can best support our teams so that our students can be the best they can be. You’ll notice in the video that I trusted Andy Edwards when he told me that I could really break a wooden plank. You might also notice that he supported me to ensure that I had the requisite knowledge and skills to be able to succeed and to stay safe! As leaders it’s up to us to support our colleagues to ensure they have the skills and knowledge that they need when carrying out the vital work they do with our students.
