Because of gerrymandered maps, our elected officials often fail to respond to Ohio voters’ views on pressing issues, like fighting climate change. That’s why we’re working with Ohioans across the state to end gerrymandering. We’re part of a coalition of Ohio citizens fighting to put citizens in charge of the map-making process. Put citizens, not politicians, in charge of redistricting. Learn more and get involved: https://ow.ly/1SaP50RY2hY

An essential step to fighting climate change is electing public officials who will pass and implement equitable climate policies. Today, I was honored to join Chesapeake Climate Action Network at the Philadelphia City Hall to urge residents to register and get out the vote early. Voting early is critical for these reasons: - Anything could happen on Election Day (You could get sick, your car may break down, etc). It's important to give yourself time beforehand to vote. If 1,000,000 people wait until Election Day to vote and even 1 or 2% aren't able to, the 10,000 or 20,000 vote that weren't cast could decide the outcome. - Casting a ballot early shortens the line to vote on Election Day. Your neighbor will be thankful! - Voting early allows the campaign you're supporting to allocate resources more strategically and efficiently. If everyone in Philadelphia voted early for the candidate of your choice, the campaign could shift money and resources to say, Pittsburgh, or other areas of Pennsylvania that need them. For yourself, your neighbors, and the campaign you support, make sure to vote early! #ClimateAction #GetOutTheVote #PhiladelphiaCityHall #ClimateChange Chesapeake Climate Action Network

Here's the tea - voting really f❄️cking matters. Voting is how we have our say on the issues that are important to us; voting is how we choose representatives who reflect our values; voting is how we hold leaders accountable; and voting is how we protect the things we love. So whether you’re a first time voter, or a serial voter, choose action over apathy and pledge to vote with climate in mind on the 4th of July. https://lnkd.in/ebWDEP4w

Hello everyone! I am currently doing my capstone project as part of my Climate Studies degree at Plymouth State University and I am interning with Climate Action LCV as a grassroots field organizer. Climate Action LCV is an environmental nonprofit and project of the League of Conservation Voters, which is what LCV stands for. This is currently the name, as it is during voting season, but we are called Climate Action NH any other time. We are dedicated to spreading awareness about environmental issues, as well as advocating for conservation and green energy policy. One of the things we are encouraging people to do is sign a couple of different petitions that tell Congress what we want to see passed. One of the petitions is the Environmental Justice for All Act, as everyone has the right to climate justice and to live in a community free of pollution. Many communities of people of color are in polluted environments and near places like methane facilities, and this act looks to address environmental racism. The second petition is the Freedom to Vote Act, which focuses on protecting our freedom to vote in every state in order to expand voter access. This also combats big money politics, promotes integrity in our election systems and generally gives people access to clean air, clean water, etc. If you are interested to sign, there is more information on the mobilize website. Here are the links to the petitions: https://lnkd.in/dy3xeSSm https://lnkd.in/dRWxGK3u

"We can't let corporate polluters win."??? What an absolute insult of a comment. I-2117 eliminates a tax that has raised gas prices on working Washingtonians. Contrary to the claims that the money from the CO2 tax is being used to reduce carbon emissions, most of the money thus far has been spent expanding government and subsidizing special interest groups. Despite promises that it would add only “pennies” to the cost of gasoline, the CCA’s tax on CO2 added about 43 cents per gallon and about 53 cents per gallon to diesel in the first year. The initiative would not repeal the state’s CO2 emissions targets, which set a goal of cutting state emissions by about 50 percent by 2030 compared to 1990. #voteYes2117
Today, we’re joining a growing, unprecedented statewide coalition of business and environmental leaders, Tribal nations, labor unions and community organizations to say we’ll vote NO on I-2117 this November to protect our clean air and water, forests and farmland, jobs, and transportation investments. CLIMATE CHANGE FACETS: THE TRUMP EFFECT After the absolutely reprehensible anti-democratic attempt against #Trump 's life, it should ironically benefit him to win the lottery of becoming the next President (#47th) of the United States... ...the increased probability of Trump's victory sends shivering distress up the spine of #climatologists and #climatechange activists because he repeatedly called the evident #cllimatecris a "hoax" (swindle) and that he would, to start with, dismantle the in-place basic environmental protection rules and the tax relief to stimulate families reducing energy costs PLEASE read full article for details and pros & cons: https://lnkd.in/dS6U_NvQ And please like and share to upgrade Linked algorithm because there is evidence of undemocratic censorship of my objective posts

November’s election goes far beyond the presidential race. Across the country, you will be voting to elect 435 House members, 34 Senators, 44 state legislatures, 11 governors and 10 attorneys general. These leaders will have an impact on science issues — from water quality to climate mitigation to disaster preparedness — for years to come. Make your voice heard. #ScienceVotesTheFuture sciencevotesthefuture.org

It's been an honor to volunteer for the Harris-Walz campaign, contributing to what I hope will make a meaningful difference: "Climate Voters for Harris Walz," a new Substack dedicated to amplifying voices that care deeply about climate action, environmental justice, and the future of our democracy. In this pivotal election, climate voters have the power to shape the future for our planet. Through this Substack, we’ll be sharing personal stories, op-eds, and ideas that inspire action and highlight why it's so important for us to be "all in" for Harris. I’d love for my network to get involved. If you have a story, insight, or perspective on the intersection of climate, justice, and democracy, I invite you to share your thoughts through this platform. Whether you’re writing an op-ed or sharing a personal experience, your voice can make a difference. Let’s mobilize and build a movement together. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to contribute or know someone who would. Your ideas can help shape the conversation and drive the action we need in the lead-up to this crucial election. 🌍💪 https://lnkd.in/gDax5d_2

I-2117 poses a threat to environmental progress, rural economies, and destabilizing committed investments in communities most overburdened by pollution. We can't let corporate polluters win. Pledge to vote NO on I-2117 this November. #climateaction #electionsmatter #voteNO2117

We’re weeks away from a historic election. It’s one that will decide the course of #climateaction in the United States at a pivotal moment, a moment when we can’t afford to slow down or send mixed signals abroad. And, it’s an election that all expect to be decided by just tens of thousands of #voters. These are all facts that I’m sure you know already. Here’s what you probably don’t know: millions of environmentalists don’t vote. These are people who list the #environment and #climatechange as their number one most important issue – and getting just 1-2% of them to vote could easily decide the election. This is the premise and work of the Environmental Voter Project. They’re a nonpartisan nonprofit organization, not focusing on a particular party, but instead focusing on protecting the environment simply by getting environmentalists to the polls. I learned a lot from my conversation with EVP Founder and Executive Director Nathaniel Stinnett. We talked about the difference between voter preferences and priorities, who these non-voting environmentalists are, and what actually works in getting them to vote. The answer to that riddle and much else in this episode might surprise you.
