Ohio Facilities Construction Commission’s Post

A big thank you to the Ohio History Connection for hosting our August Commission meeting at the Collections Care Center in Columbus. Our team was in full force with Planning Manager Joey DiOrio, Chief Legal Counsel Bill Damschroder, Chief of Program Services Jeff Westhoven, and Chief Financial Officer Paul Mann delivering presentations. It didn’t stop there. Special shout-out to Project Manager Brett Woodring, who admitted he’s more comfortable in a hard hat than giving presentations, and Grants Administrator Jessica DeLong for showcasing the Collections Care Center construction project from start to finish. A huge thanks to Ohio History Connection Executive Director & CEO Megan Wood and her staff for a very cool tour of the facility, featuring some incredible pieces of Ohio history: • Former President, General, and Ohio native Ulysses S. Grant’s chair • Former President and Ohio native William Henry Harrison’s campaign hat • A huge portrait of Robert Taft, son of former President, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice, and Ohio native William Howard Taft, that once hung on a campaign train. It was a day well spent connecting our work with Ohio’s rich heritage!
