5 things you legally need to do right away when you move to a new state 1. Update Your Address: Notify the United States Postal Service (USPS) of your new address and file for mail forwarding to ensure you receive important documents and mail at your new location. 2. Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration: Obtain a new driver’s license from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in your new state. Also, register your vehicle with the new state and update your license plate and registration. 3. Update Insurance Policies: Inform your insurance providers (auto, health, home, etc.) about your move to update your policies accordingly. This might include changes in coverage, premiums, and policy terms. 4. Well, fret not, because I've got you covered with some handy tips to keep tabs on it. First up, the online route. Head over to the VA.gov website and use their Track Claim Status Tool. It's updated, user-friendly, and lets you check in on your case whenever you want. Now, if you prefer the human touch, you can always dial up the VA Benefits Hotline at 1-800-827-1000. They're there to help and can give you the lowdown on where your claim stands. And last but not least, there's the traditional method of visiting a VA Regional Office in your state. Sometimes, talking face-to-face can make all the difference, especially when it comes to something as important as your benefits. I'm a fan of newsletters, so this short video explaining why newsletters are so valuable (and how certain companies are able to monetize their newsletters) is fascinating. While there are a ton of emails sent every day (and 56% of them are spam), if you can execute a quality newsletter that resonates with your audience, it is a huge marketing win. No algorithms to contend with. No having to pay for ads to get any sort of reach. No wasting your message on uninterested people who won't be customers. At Life Insurance Strategies Group, our monthly newsletter (our Tier One update), has been a big part of our own marketing that has contributed to our success by helping to shape opinion of the company in the industry.
