Act: Sign up for action alerts from the USCCB at https://lnkd.in/g7u7Tn5V so you can join the Committee’s efforts to encourage Congressional action responding to the EEOC’s PWFA regulations. Meanwhile, religious employers should honor the pro-woman, pro-life intent of the law Congress passed, and grant pregnant employees reasonable accommodations that allow them to have healthy pregnancies. It will make for a stronger case in the event an employee asks for leave to get an abortion. It is also the right thing to do. #ohiocatholics #religiousfreedom #usccb #actionalert #prowoman #prolife

HIPAA and the New Rules Regarding Reproductive Health Care Access Url - https://lnkd.in/gkkKzgqq #federalgovt #lawenforcement #womansright #illigalabortion #hipaa #hipaanewrule The federal government has now tightened these law enforcement exception loopholes and resolved various conflict of laws issues between the states – where one state may outlaw abortion and the other state may allow it. Can one travel back and forth for abortion care? Attendees should have a basic understanding of HIPAA and how state agencies and law enforcement investigate for alleged violations of law, which now include a woman’s right to choose in states where abortion is illegal. In the post-Roe vs. Wade healthcare world, healthcare practitioners must understand how HIPAA privacy applies to their medical records of abortion, as well as the law enforcement exceptions which may swallow the rule.

In safe abortion care (SAC) restrictive environments, even post-abortion care (PAC) is misconstrued as providing the SAC services. The unwanted effects are not only serving as a barrier but putting unbearable financial pressure, especially on adolescent girls. #MakingAbortionSafe #Effectivenessof #Post-abortion #Services

I'm pleased to be sharing this article by my colleagues Anima Anjuri and Harshda Bargal at the Centre for Health Equity, Law & Policy - ILS Pune - an insight into the good & bad emerging from Indian courts in abortion cases, and the lack of consistency in factoring mental health concerns into decisions around unwanted pregnancies. The impact of such confusion is a serious one for women seeking abortions and for those wishing to provide reproductive health services. https://lnkd.in/devbnzUq #reproductivejustice #abortionrights #SRHR #womenshealth

Given the current legal landscape, women must be extremely cautious about which states they travel to due to restrictive abortion laws that can severely impact access to necessary medical care. Here are some examples: 1. Texas: With its near-total ban on abortions after approximately six weeks, even in cases of rape or incest, women could find themselves unable to access crucial medical care if complications arise after traveling to Texas. Imagine a woman experiencing a miscarriage needing immediate medical intervention, only to face legal hurdles and delays due to the state’s restrictive laws. 2. Missouri: In Missouri, where nearly all abortions are banned and the state has severely restricted clinics that can provide such care, a woman traveling for business or visiting family could find herself without options if an emergency arises. This could result in severe health consequences, as she might be forced to travel out of state to receive the care she needs. 3. Alabama: Alabama’s law, which bans almost all abortions with very few exceptions, means that a woman visiting Alabama who experiences a pregnancy complication might not be able to obtain the necessary care to preserve her health or life. This scenario could lead to life-threatening situations where immediate medical intervention is delayed or denied. These restrictive laws not only endanger women’s health but also pose significant risks for businesses whose employees may need to travel. Companies must consider the legal and health implications of investing in states with such severe restrictions, as the well-being of their employees could be compromised. Investing in states that uphold women’s rights and provide comprehensive healthcare access is not only ethical but also essential for protecting the health and safety of their workforce. #WomensRights #HealthcareAccess #ReproductiveRights #EmployeeWellbeing #ProtectWomen
"Women across our nation ,must be able to access emergency medical care, including an abortion,to preserve their health or save their life .Today's Supreme Court decision does not change that women across the country are being denied care because of abortion bans. President Biden and I continue our fught to protect a Woman's freedom to make decisions about her own body.and we will keep fighting until Congress passes a law that restores the protections of Roe in every state" 💙 Vice President Kamala Harris 💙 #vicepresident #kamalaharris #powerfulwomen #bidenharris #fourmoreyears #supreme #court #decision #congress #goverment #whitehouse #washingtondc #votewomen #votehealth #votefreedom #voteourfuture #votebludemocrats

Abortion rates are on the rise in the US, even with new bans in place. 🤯 A recent study shows that states with stricter laws are seeing a decrease, but overall numbers are up. This is likely due to increased access to abortion pills and telehealth services. #abortionrights #reproductivehealth #womenshealth

Some participants in a study conducted by our researchers were aware that unsafe abortion services are often dangerous. Abortion services through public clinics and hospitals are legal, safe, and free. Keep an eye out for further evidence from the study.
