Hello to my acoustic consulting friends! AHRI is updating several of our sound standards. Here is a quick review, please feel free to click through if you wish to provide feedback, they are all in the public review phase. AHRI 260 This is ducted sound power. If you are already familiar with this standard the main thing to know is that we are publishing this as a dual unit standard. There are very few units in the standard in general so the impact was quite small. But if you have ideas to improve the standard more generally, please jump in and review. AHRI 300 This is for PTAC unit sound ratings. This standard is unique among AHRI standards in that it includes Transmission Loss because these units become part of the exterior wall. The previous version required testing with the fresh air damper (if it exists) in the closed position. This update allows testing with the damper in both open and closed positions and simply requires reporting which position is being reported (we hope it’s usually both but allow manufacturers to decide if they wish to publish one or the other or both). AHRI 270 This is undergoing very minimal changes. We intend to keep this standard relevant to residential outdoor units and aligned with application standard AHRI 275. AHRI 370 This standard is the big brother of 270. It has always offered free field testing to accommodate very large units. Both 270 and 370 offer reverberation and intensity methods. Prior to these updates, 270 and 370 were mutually exclusive around the cooling capacity limit of 11 tons. We decided to leave 270 focused on small units (under 11 tons) but expanded 370 to cover smaller capacities. There is now redundancy up to 11 tons but the purpose is to allow commercial lines of unitary equipment spanning the 11 ton size to stick with 370 all the way down to 3 tons. This should simplify commercial equipment sound rate literature. This is especially useful to light commercial unitary equipment lines spanning from several tons to a few dozen tons. If you have questions feel free to ask here, IM, or email. Otherwise just click through to review.
We are now inviting public comment on standards for sound ratings for ducted air moving and conditioning equipment, packaged terminal ACs and HPs, and outdoor unitary equipment. https://ow.ly/mpoB50RH6oC

The Honest partner for electric fan and portable air conditioner.BSCI manufactory, R290 production line,GS CE CB
Someone asked: What is mobile air conditioning?🤔🤔 Compared with traditional wall-mounted air conditioners, they can only cool a specific space, and the installation process is more cumbersome. Mobile air conditioners can move freely, without space constraints, and the installation difficulty is basically zero, and the basic realization can be used at home!👍👍

Did you know that there are three major parts of a split system air conditioning unit that need to be properly balanced and matched to provide peak efficiency and economy? These are the outdoor unit (containing the compressor and condensing coil), the indoor unit (made up of a coil and blower), and the line set (which circulates the liquid between the indoor and outdoor unit).
