Star boy S: Bunking class Late to school Low self-esteem Fighting Foul language Disrespectful No ambition Bo passion Thoughts of suicide…. Watch this short video to how using trauma informed approaches we have been able to help this young man move from blocked trust to trust. At Hood Lessons our primary focus is strategic as we help inner London schools, meet their targets and shift school cultures. We also work closely with behaviour and pastoral teams to develop strategic approaches. Our comprehensive staff training enables us to demonstrate our ground-level methods in detail. Rather than simply presenting slides, we guide staff through each step of the process to ensure thorough understanding and effective implementation. 📣With all that being said, we still undertake hands-on 1:1 behaviour interventions with students, demonstrating effective engagement techniques for those working with students who have experienced trauma.📣 This gives us an opportunity to have dual impact! Working from the top while still having impact on the ground.

As an educator I think and talk a lot about student wellbeing and how trauma can affect our students and their behaviour. Recently though I’ve been thinking more about how MY wellbeing affects my students, as well as teachers as a whole. How can we help make schools psychologically safe for teachers so they can in turn create psychologically safe classrooms? Highly recommend listening to this course, it helped add to the toolkit I already have to help both myself and my colleagues. Just finished "Navigating Personal Trauma and Triggers at Work" by Mariel Buqué. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/g5MTSiJk #professionalconduct, #difficultsituations.

3moThe survey results indicating high rates of depression and risk of suicide for young children which this video highlighted is shocking. Thanks for sharing and for the work OhioMHAS does to support children's mental health.
