Israel based angel investor and VC Gilli Cegla introduced the unicamel (see below), the more endurable version of the startup unicorn 🦄, in his talk at the 127th SICTIC Investor Day today. He pointed out that 2,000 serial founders drive the 7,000 active tech startups in Israel. A critical mass of serial founders is something Switzerland clearly lacks. How can we get there? Very Interesting point Thomas Dübendorfer. "2,000 serial founders drive the 7,000 active tech startups". One important aspect is that entrepreneurs (can) become serial entrepreneurs in the first place. As long as there is a stigma for failure, despite hard work, first-time founders are deterred from getting back up and trying again. The stigma of failure is still widespread in Switzerland (Europe) if the successful exit has not been achieved. Giving a 2nd or even 3rd (depending on the case and reason) chance would certainly increase the number of serial entrepreneurs. Everyone must contribute to this. Public opinion, but also institutional investors!
