Prof. Scott Hamilton was recently at the Connecting Green Hydrogen APAC 2024 and was amazed at the insightful discussions of one particular panel – 'Navigating Uncertainties of Offtake and Bankability for Hydrogen Projects'. The panel deep dived into several critical areas: 🌟 How market dynamics are shaping the future of green hydrogen, and who the key players are 🌟 The potential of green hydrogen to serve as a primary fuel source, working alongside renewable energy sources to stabilise power output 🌟 Key considerations in structuring offtake agreements, emphasising their importance for the success of hydrogen projects 🌟 Critical smart tech driving hydrogen energy production and supply, and their roles in advancing this sector. Yesterday I attended the RenewableUK Green Hydrogen 2024 Conference, and the discussion with key players in hydrogen on what the UK's future energy system looks like. It was a really informative and interesting day. My key takeaways from the event were around the need for companies with decarbonisation targets to act now to prove their technology for use with hydrogen and be open minded about the colour of hydrogen to do that. Hanwha recently participated in CERAWeek 2024 and shared its transformative decarbonization solutions for a world heading towards net zero. Industries, for example, are looking to hydrogen as a viable alternative fuel that can power hard-to-abate sectors like steel as the world moves away from fossil fuels. However, retrofitting existing infrastructure remains costly without a robust hydrogen economy in place.
