Despite global calls & political commitment to embed #AnticipatoryAction in its objectives, less than 1% of funding is allocated to precrisis response. #AnticipatoryAction in EiE is a key opportunity for the humanitarian-development nexus to be put into practice & ensure that development investments are protected & can respond to shocks. Today, we gather not only to celebrate the strides we have taken towards achieving the #SDGs but also to critically assess where we need to focus our energies to catalyse greater impact. Our role as civil society organisations is more crucial than ever. We are the catalysts for change, the voice for the marginalised, and the accountability keepers of international and local commitments. - Benjamin Charagu SDGs Kenya Forum #KenyaProgress #Leavenoonebehind

✊Civil society must unite ahead of the September 2024 UN #SummitoftheFuture to demand the addition of specific language in the Zero Draft of the Pact for the Future to elevate health, community leadership, community data, and equal and inclusive community engagement. These elements are essential for: ✅driving transformative change, ✅improving system outcomes, ✅enhancing efficiency, ✅promoting social accountability, ✅and building more just and resilient societies. The 2024 UN Civil Society Conference (9-10 of May 2024 – Nairobi, Kenya) is where key stakeholders will gather to regroup, redefine, and redirect the working progress towards issues of global concern. ITPC has collated some key information to provide communities, partners and allies with what is critical to know, to be prepared on what we want to push strategically at the UN Civil Society Conference, during the negotiations, and until the Summit of the Future. 📌The 2024 UN Civil Society Conference, (9-10 May 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya) – How and Why Should I Engage? 🔗https://lnkd.in/dkD25n_E 📌What is the UN #SummitOfTheFuture - How and Why Should I Engage? 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dwP86PZq #2024UNCSC #SDGs Solange Baptiste Simon Dr. Charlene Omrawo Nadia rafif

🌍✨ The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) is a vital platform where Civil Societies come together to collaborate, hold governments accountable, and push for more ambitious targets and actions. It’s a unique space for marginalized groups to amplify their voices and influence global and regional policies. This year, the #HLPF2024 will concentrate on five key Sustainable Development Goals: #SDG1 (No Poverty), #SDG2 (Zero Hunger), #SDG13 (Climate Action), #SDG16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and #SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals). In the same spirit, we are thrilled to announce that we will be presenting the CSOs Voluntary National Review (#VNR2024) report, which is annexed to the government’s VNR. With Kenya being one of the countries participating in the HLPF, this is a significant opportunity to showcase our collective efforts and progress. We invite you to join us at this timely event from today the 8th to the 18th of this month and be part of the movement for a better future. Together, we can make a substantial difference, ensuring no one is left behind. Let’s strive for impactful changes, hold leaders to their commitments, and work towards achieving these critical goals. Your participation is essential. #HLPF2024| #VNR2024 |#Sustainabledevelopment |#LeaveNoOneBehind | #TwendekazinaSDGs |#DecadeofAction

Indeed, it is also a reality that within the same #conflictenvironments, #communities #cannot experience #sustaineddevelopment because periodically #schools, #hospitals, #religiousamenities, #formation facilities and other essential #institutional #infrastructure become either #anomalous, #inoperable, or #destroyed. Will we be forever rebuilding/rehabilitating development institutions and be morally and ethically indebted or legally obliged to operationalize #humanitarian interventions and aid? Yes, if we are not committed, qualified, and engaged in #addressing the #underlyingcauses of #conflict and bringing about the #necessary #transformation to end #manifest and #structuralviolence, leading to #sustainablepeace where #reconciliation is #nurtured #persistently. https://lnkd.in/dBsTCkUM

🌍✊ Alianza Fondos del Sur Stands with #TooSouthernToBeFunded Campaign ✊🌍 Alianza Socioambiental Fondos del Sur stands in solidarity with the #TooSouthernToBeFunded campaign, led by the #ShiftThePower movement. This global initiative highlights the systemic funding disparities faced by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Global South. Historically, bureaucratic barriers and biased practices have hindered direct funding from international donors to Southern CSOs, perpetuating inequalities and limiting local agency in development efforts. These practices often favor Northern organizations, overlooking the capacities and perspectives of Southern CSOs in addressing local challenges and driving sustainable development. #TooSouthernToBeFunded advocates for: 1. Removing barriers that restrict direct funding to Global South CSOs. 2. Revising tied aid policies to ensure equitable access to core support for Southern CSOs. 3. Enhancing transparency in funding mechanisms to track and report on resource flows. By supporting this campaign, we are committed to promoting a development paradigm rooted in equality, mutual respect, and the empowerment of local communities. We believe that empowering Southern CSOs is essential for achieving sustainable and inclusive development worldwide. Join us in signing the open letter <https://bit.ly/4cCbmmy> and advocating for reforms that empower Global South CSOs. Together, we can #ShiftThePower towards a more just and equitable future. #AlianzaFondosdelSur #GlobalSouthFunds #CommunityPhilanthropy
