Looking for #internships? Here are some important reminders for you. Here's how I got an internship at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras - 😶 Level 0: You don't need to know everything Just #beginning work on anything you *might* be interested in, can take you really far. 😐 Level 1: Find out Find out what you might like - maybe you took a class that felt very interesting, or probably there's an idea you've got that's so #interesting you're considering learning enough to bring it idea to life. Trial and error it :) 🤔 Level 2: Getting involved!! #ReachOut, ask around, put your mind out there (and I tell myself this every time - you might just find something new you'd rather do with your free time!) 🤗 Level 3: Try preparing - "How?", "Why?" It always helps to have experience, or at minimum, knowledge. If not, don't worry, we've all got YouTube. #Crashcourses, Walkthroughs, Project Execution videos - follow along and try the activities you're watching as you go. If you like reading instead, reach out to a senior in a field of your interest, ask about their club/project's research and read through their research papers or project reports. (I'm beginning to tap into the value of #projectreports rn!) 😎 Level 4: Put stuff on the table Write what you know, what you don't (even if its in 1:99 ratio!) for your own reference. Learn to congratulate yourself on not knowing (it is important to - https://lnkd.in/gtG7Jxny). Begin to use everything available to you to begin building something. Just begin building #REMEMBER - Not getting an internship in your first (or second or third) year doesn't put you behind others. Internships exist to teach you something, so before looking for opportunities, prep your brain for it!
