How will the addition of a new AW139 improve the commuter experience for Tokyo-Izu island travelers? At Japan Aerospace, Toho Air Service, Co., Ltd., Mitsui Bussan Aerospace Co., Ltd., and Leonardo have signed an agreement for the delivery of a new AW139 helicopter for Tokyo-Ai land shuttle services. Expected for delivery in 2025, this intermediate twin-engine aircraft will bolster Toho Air’s capabilities, offering enhanced navigation, expanded cabin space, and increased safety standards for passengers traveling between Tokyo and the six major Izu islands. This collaboration celebrates a 20-year partnership between Leonardo and Mitsui Bussan Aerospace, underscoring the AW139’s status as a best-selling model both in Japan and globally. Could this new addition set a new standard for helicopter commuter services in Japan? Did you know that, on average, once every month an Airbus flightcrew lands, selects reversers and then executes a go-around anyway?! (Once every 1M flights) These are VERY scary statistics and they came to light after the serious incident I cover in the video below. I am mentioning Airbus crews here because it was Airbus who did the study, but the likelyhood is that this happens on ALL aircraft types and therefore represents one of the biggest latent threats to air-safety that I’ve come across so far. https://lnkd.in/duhBzCbM

You should able to track the first flight of Global's first aircraft from the Mojave Air & Space Port Just a short one this time. But another important operational step forward. #aviation #a380 #GlobalAirlines 🛫 #airbuslovers

Since the Japan Airlines accident, we all agree with the fact that the cabin crew evacuated the 367 passengers safely thanks to their professionalism and the cooperation of the passengers that followed the instructions and left their personal belongings behind them. The A350-900 was certified for a full load of up to 440 passengers to be evacuated within 90 seconds with only half of the exits usable. What is the evacuation time when passengers attempting to grab their items during an evacuation, potentially blocking the process? 🤔🤔🤔 Since the aircraft manufacturers do not include in their certification process the risks associated with this human factor, this issue should be seriously addressed by regulators. What about locking the overhead bins during the critical phases of flight e.g. during take-off and landing? This should be enabled and part of the cabin cew procedure. It is time to act. 🚀 Ablaye Mbaye #aviation #aviationindustry #pilot #pilottraining #dispatchertraining #learn #fly #flight #airplane #aircraft #pilotlife #knowledgeispower #share #airline #avgeek #flightops #japanairlines

Please look carefully at such publications… Aeroflot Group will buy whatever it is told, no matter how long the delay is going to be. First of all, till now SJ-100s have been assigned only to the fleet of member of the group Rossia Airlines. Aeroflot Airlines itself does not have such type and new ones have nothing to do with SU itself. Soon or later they will come. Secondly, Tu-214 can be produced by factory in Kazan in a quantity of 4-5 per annum - not a big deal. There will be enough other customers. But…the key moment is that this type was designed according to ancient standards - with third person in the cockpit (board engineer). For SU this is the showstopper, no matter the design bureau and the producer promised to “look at the issue” MC-21 needs to prove its operational efficiency. Maybe it will be better than its Chinese rival (and potential alternative for SU) which is already operational? Let’s see….

🤔 Locking the bins during the “critical” phases of flight IS a useful idea. Ultimately, the battle is centered on changing “passenger behavior” during emergencies. So then the question becomes how best to accomplish this? There should be a measured consequence applied to the violating passenger that also sends a sufficient enough message to ALL other passengers, in order to achieve the desired outcome.
