🌍Today, we are commemorating Earth Day. As the mining industry worldwide strives for greater sustainability and efficiency, technology's role becomes increasingly crucial. ⚡️In this sneak peek of the new Razor Labs Expert Series, Michael Zolotov discusses the low-hanging fruit of operational improvements that can significantly lower mining equipment's energy consumption. For example, pumps account for a significant portion of global power consumption. At typical mining sites, while mills might draw more power per unit, the sheer number of pumps (often over 100 at a single site) means their cumulative energy use is massive. By ensuring the performance of optimal pumps, the mining industry can prevent energy wastage, which might range from 10% to 25% of the total energy consumed by each pump, significantly reducing the ecological footprint of mining operations. **Epiroc to acquire remaining stake in #ASIMining** - #Epiroc, currently holding a 34% stake in ASI Mining, will acquire the remaining 66% of the US-based mining automation company. - ASI Mining, headquartered in Mendon, Utah, provides OEM-agnostic #mining automation systems, including remote control and fully autonomous solutions. - The acquisition, expected to close in Q3 2024, aims to enhance mine safety, productivity, and reduce emissions and operational costs. - ASI Mining generated approximately Skr300m ($28.2m) in revenue last year, and its technology is advantageous for mixed equipment fleets. - Epiroc president and CEO Helena Hedblom emphasized the ongoing collaboration with ASI Mining to advance automation solutions for mining customers. #mining #mineralprocessing #mineralexploration
