Today's gratitude and values for me looks something like this: I am grateful for the enriching work environment cultivated by esteemed employers, where learning and growth in the legal field are paramount. Their dedication to training me has been invaluable, fostering my professional development. Beyond the Office, we uphold a standard of behavior that reflects positively on each other, embodying mutual support and respect. Our cohesive team dynamic ensures that we consistently have each other's backs, whether in challenging situations or while interacting with clients. This foundation of trust and collaboration not only strengthens our bond but also propels us toward continuous growth and success. Our individual actions and choices ripple outward, influencing how those around us perceive us. By nurturing a reputation that reflects our best qualities and principles, we honor ourselves and each other but also ensure that our impact on others is one of inspiration and credibility. Upholding one's reputation is not just about personal pride; it is a reflection of our character and a testament to the values we hold. What does today's gratitude and values bring to you?

The Power of Appreciation: More Than Just a 'Thank You' In the rush of our daily lives, it's all too easy to miss the little moments of kindness, the hard work, and the dedication that people around us show every day. But taking just a moment to appreciate these efforts can truly make a difference.Appreciation is more than just a polite gesture—it's a powerful tool that touches us on many levels. It lifts spirits, fuels motivation, and deepens connections. A simple "thank you" can turn someone's day around, encouraging them to keep doing their best. But appreciation does more than just make us feel good. On a deeper level, it creates a sense of belonging and self-worth. When we're appreciated, our brains release dopamine, the chemical that makes us feel happy and rewarded. This doesn’t just brighten our mood; it has a lasting impact on our overall well-being. In the workplace, a culture of appreciation can lead to more engaged employees, higher productivity, and lower turnover. It builds an environment where people feel valued and eager to contribute their best work. So, let's make appreciation a habit. Whether it’s acknowledging a colleague's hard work, a friend's support, or a small act of kindness—take a moment to express your gratitude. After all, it's the little things that often make the biggest difference. #appreciate #friends #colleague

Today, I want to share something truly inspiring that I came across. This video captures a beautiful moment from a medical practice celebrating a staff member's 20 years of service. The joy and overwhelming emotions she experiences are a testament to the power of appreciation in the workplace. 📌 What We Can Learn: The Power of Recognition: It's amazing to see how recognizing someone's hard work and dedication can light up their world. It reminds us of the importance of acknowledging the efforts of those around us. The Impact of Milestone Celebrations: Celebrating career milestones isn’t just a nice gesture; it's a profound way to show respect and appreciation for someone's journey and dedication. Building a Positive Culture: Moments like these contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, something we can all aim to foster in our own spaces. Motivation for All: Witnessing such celebrations can motivate others to strive for excellence, knowing that their efforts and loyalty will be recognized. Creating Lasting Memories: Simple acts of appreciation can create lasting memories and strengthen bonds within any team or community. Let’s take this as a reminder to celebrate and appreciate the hard work and dedication of those around us, in all walks of life. Sometimes, a simple 'thank you' can make all the difference! #AppreciationInAction #CelebratingDedication #WorkplaceCulture #Inspiration

Friday appreciation post! This week, I’d like to acknowledge myself for going with the flow and working within my capacity rather than feeling guilty about not doing more. I have been under the weather with flu since last week. Therefore, I am utilizing this opportunity to pat myself on the back for taking it one day at a time instead of worrying about the what-ifs (aka worst case scenarios that my overthinking mind cooks up in seconds, faster than instant noodles ;p) Sharing a snippet of self-inquiry from my journal that helped me this week: What does self-acceptance mean to you, Saba? Right now, self-acceptance for me is….. - unconditional love - personal expansion - compassion & kindness - Taking intentional breaks - Allowing my body to rest - confidence to do better - working within my capacity - slowing down - going with the flow - being patient - showing up - listening & observing - adding valuing - subtracting judgement - contentment from within - Holding space for myself to feel my feelings - cultivating stronger faith in Allah & his plan for me - giving myself grace when plans go haywire - holding onto the belief that this too shall pass Anyhow, I am getting better and deeply grateful for good health, Alhamdulillah!! Self-inquiry through meaningful questions mostly leads to insightful and intriguing responses. Some self-reflection for you: - What does self-acceptance mean to you? - What personal accomplishments can you acknowledge this week? - In what ways can you appreciate, recognize and validate the contributions of your team members? (Perhaps leaving personalized appreciation notes on their desks on Monday as a way to brighten up their week) Have a great weekend, friends!

We’ve gotten so good at celebrating the big moments in life and at work - a milestone birthday, a big fat bonus, a much awaited promotion, an award or accolade won, that sometimes we forget the little ones. But life is of course neither perfectly designed nor full of highs. Very often you get one thing, but struggle with another, and some days can be better than others. I’ve had a challenging few weeks recently, and in those moments, it was the little things that kept my sputtering engine going - friendly banter with co-workers, an unexpected note of appreciation and thanks, an engaging conversation about possibilities and little reminders of the “wins” already made and the promise of those yet to come. I don’t think the individuals involved intended to or expected it, but some of the interactions I’ve had kept me going when I struggled to find my mojo. And so this one’s for the little moments - ending the day earlier and getting to see the little ones before they get to bed, a productive meeting, the start of an interesting project, and in this particular case, the opportunity to give my ocean-loving son a glimpse into the marine biodiversity project we’re working on, and watching his face light up with delight and awe at my job (albeit misplaced - no this is not what I do everyday, son). It’s easy to lose sight of the small things when we’re chasing the big, and even easier to forget how our little interactions can make a difference to someone’s day. And while I hope that there’ll always be big triumphs to celebrate, I equally hope that we’ll be able to find our days peppered with sufficient micro moments to keep us going when the going gets tough. And much more than that, I hope our interactions can bring you that little lift when you need it. 💕

Here are four ways we cultivate culture here at Sudburys! · Celebrating our work anniversary: This is a dedicated time to recognise the contributions of each team member. · We have 90-day reviews: A safe place to provide feedback and support and a place to talk about growth and development. · Weekly ½ hour team meetings: Time to align our goals for the week, communicate effectively, and ensure everyone feels heard and valued. · An annual team day: A day once a year dedicated to fostering camaraderie, relationship building, and where to from here. As Nikita Tomlinson says "Culture is a bit like sport success – it doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes practice, practice, practice." Every day we come to work is a continuation of practicing our core values which sets the tone for our culture but man is it worth it. We are so proud of our team and the culture here at Sudburys.
