Google is experimenting with AI to organize local search results more effectively, starting with shopping-related queries. This follows their announcement at a conference that they'll introduce AI-organized search results soon. Mike Blumenthal shared a video showing this in action, highlighting multiple horizontal place results and fewer non-local listings for searches like "restaurants Olean." This approach aims to enhance user experience by providing more relevant local information upfront.

I recently gained access to Google Merchant Centre Next and have to say, I quite like it. 😁
Two features I find particularly useful:
1. Product Editor: Easier to see images visually and pin/remove/upload them. On the blog, Google said they’ll add more features like removing backgrounds and improving image resolution (powered by Generative AI).
2. New data source: Google automatically fills in the product feed with information they can detect from your online store. More options to upload products.
