This week, the Safety Innovation Academy Tech Lab hit the road, visiting the Robotic Innovations facility to explore how to safely work with collaborative robots. Altus Mostert explained the key differences between industrial and collaborative robots—industrial robots are designed for higher-speed, higher-power tasks but are isolated from workers due to their potential danger. Collaborative robots (or cobots), on the other hand, are engineered to work side-by-side with humans, offering safer, more flexible solutions for a variety of tasks. The best way to truly understand these technologies? Hands-on learning! There’s nothing quite like seeing and interacting with these robots in real-time to appreciate their potential and understand how to safely integrate them into workplaces. In this video I'm experiencing what it feels like to maneuver the cobot into location for a palletising use case. Have you ever worked around a robot? #SafetyTech #Cobots #SafetyInnovation #HandsOnLearning #Robotics

Advancements in Robotic Technology and construction have broadened the scope of utilization Of Collaborative Robotic arms (Cobots), extending to tasks conducted alongside humans in shared workspaces. Through simulation using RobotStudio by ABB Group, an attempt is made to study the working area of Cobots, defining a safety net for human interaction 🤖💼 and creating a collision-free path for the robot to work. A small step towards learning to enhance the productivity of using robots on-site. #DigitalTransformation #Robotics #RoboticFabrication #AutomationInConstruction #InteractionDesign #HumanRobotInteraction

6 Degrees of Freedom for Industrial Automation 6DoF is the ability of physical bodies to move in all three planes, including rotation around axes. This skill is particularly important for collaboration of robots and industrial cameras. Implementing 6DoF significantly increases the performance and adaptability of robots for a variety of tasks. It plays a key role in detecting objects, especially for precise positioning. This opens up new possibilities for advanced machine vision and robotics applications. John Moon is checking out all things #Robotics at #SFTechWeek. With autonomous machines gracing headlines this week, we want to hear from you - What autonomous machine do you think will have the biggest impact on industry over the next 18 months? #TechWeek #Autonomous #AI #Robots
I'm diving deep on robotics at #SFTechWeek. 🤖 Last night I got to see first hand some of the newest robots at "The Real Value of AI& Robotics in Industrial Markets" event with Canvas Dusty Robotics and RIOS Intelligent Machines. From the wall painting Canvas 1200CX to Dusty Robotic's compact FieldPrinter2 it was exciting to see how autonomous machines are being used at scale to improve efficiency and simplify jobs. Tonight I'll be at the Bright Machines Demo Happy Hour and Scaling AI-Enabled Robotics at Chef's headquarters. Let me know if you'll be there, too! #Robotics #Innovation

Experienced Operations Leader driving results through data analytics, continuous process improvement, strategic goal setting, team building, and proactive communication
Having spent hours tracking the top racks of my warehouse and regularly updating product locations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, I can see how this feature could create significant time and cost savings, making it a worthwhile investment. #RaaS #Operations #Inventorymanagement
Designing a tall mechanical tower that extends and collapses whilst moving around a warehouse presented some tough challenges for our engineering team. ‘The first question we asked ourselves was how tall does the inventory robot's tower need to be?In the end, we opted for a tower with a minimum height of 3 m that could extend to 12 m, with a camera at the top to measure racks of 14 m.' – Peter Bushell, New Product Development Lead at Dexory. Check out the other tactics we used to develop a fully autonomous warehouse scanning robot: https://bit.ly/3VyfT4j #robotics #automation #warehousemanagement
