Finally, "the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that a U.S. industry is not materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of aluminum extrusions from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam that the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) has determined are sold in the United States at less than fair value, and subsidized by the Governments of China, Indonesia, Mexico, and Turkey". This is good news for International Trade and confirms that the US economy must remain open to the import of aluminum extrusions from outside the country. This decision will also help local extruders improve their services, quality, technology and competitiveness in their large market, as many European extruders did decades ago. And above all, it will benefit the American end consumer who will not have to pay more for a product that contains extruded aluminum, which will improve the country's own economy.

This decision reflects the proposed changes from earlier this year, aimed at "strengthening the protection of strategic industries" in the U.S. 🇺🇸🔧 Starting September 27, 2024, the following tariff hikes will be implemented: 100% on Electric Vehicles 🚗⚡️ 50% on Solar Cells & Wafers ☀️🔋 25% on Masks, Syringes, Needles, Critical Minerals, Steel, and Aluminum 🩹💉🔩 These measures, outlined in the USTR's official modification notice, also introduce new tariff categories for polysilicon and silicon wafers used in solar panels. 📝🔍 USTR believes these adjustments will mitigate the impact of Chinese policies on U.S. businesses and individuals, diversify import channels, and enhance the resilience of the U.S. supply chain. 📦🌐 Stay tuned for more updates! #PUdaily #TariffUpdate #USTrade #SupplyChainResilience #TechTransfer

Global Ferroalloys and Metals trading. Mainly: Ferrosilicon, Silicon Metal, Cored Wire, Silicon Manganese, Calcium Silicon.
In the second half of 2023, Taiwan's import volume of ferrosilicon (Si≥55%) was 5,764.00 metric tons, compared with 6,744.00 metric tons in the same period of 2022 and 5,524.00 metric tons last month, a year-on-year decrease of 14.53% and a month-on-month increase of 4.34%.In 2023, Taiwan, China, imported a total of 49,364.00 metric tons of ferrosilicon (Si>55%), compared with 54,591.00 metric tons in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 9.57%. The main importing countries of Taiwan's ferrosilicon are 1: China 2: Norway 3: Brazil. When the mainland lifted its blockade in early 2023, it also encountered the credit crisis of European and American banks and the serial debt defaults of China's large state-owned real estate developers. In addition, the lack of control over crude steel in mainland China and the weak steel demand have triggered a flanking attack between strong supply and weak demand. In addition, frequent geopolitical risks, and the upcoming presidential election in 2024 at the end of the year have directly led to the continuous delay in the recovery of the steel market! Due to the upcoming general election in 2023, Taiwan's leading steel mills (Sinosteel, Huaxin, Tang Rong, Rong Gang, Yelian, Fengxing), which have been subject to economic sanctions from the mainland, have to turn their procurement focus to the pro-American "Brazil & Norway" In order to replace the risk of insufficient supply, various global economic crises and geopolitical issues between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait have led to a certain significant decline in Taiwan's hot and cold rolling production in 2023.

China Launches Anti-Dumping Probe on U.S., EU, Japan, Taiwan Thermoplastics China has initiated an anti-dumping investigation targeting thermoplastic imports used in automotive and electronics from the U.S., EU, Japan, and Taiwan. The probe, focused on polyoxymethylene copolymers, is expected to conclude within a year, with a possible six-month extension. This move seems to be a response to the EU's investigation into alleged unfair trade practices by Chinese firms. Last week, the U.S. significantly increased tariffs on Chinese goods, including electric vehicles, steel, aluminum products, and solar cells, affecting $18 billion worth of imports. Meanwhile, EU leaders are contemplating imposing high tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles and wind turbines under a new anti-subsidy law, potentially closing off a vital market for China. #TradeWars #China #Tariffs #GlobalEconomy #USChinaRelations #EUTrade #AntiDumping
