I have just been to the Fisher Theatre in Bungay for a great poetry workshop. The workshop was organised for the community by Rosedale Funeral Home. My friend Lucy Coote helped organise the event. One of the poems I wrote as we were circling the room with introductions was: Liquorice ---------- Stringy and Sweet Anise and Long Helps you belong Beat the throng To buy the Moment made To make your Mouth water :)

Why #Shakespeare? RSC’s research shows that when English and Drama teachers "use a combination of Shakespeare’s plays and a theatre-based pedagogy, children felt better and more confident about themselves as learners, they gain the ability to express emotion in their writing, show greater optimism in their writing, can plan for the future and demonstrate greater comprehension." 🎭 Learn why approaching Shakespeare as more than just a reading exercise is so valuable for students in this article from the Royal Shakespeare Company 👇 #DigitalResources #Education #TeachingShakespeare
"Research tells us that when we approach Shakespeare as a play to be performed, children are able to access the plays and take ownership of the language." #Shakespeare #YoungPeople Our Director of Learning Jacqui O’Hanlon speaks to The Stage about the power of an arts-rich education: https://lnkd.in/emUJA-mh

Can we modernize Shakespeare so that a audience today can understand what is being said, WITHOUT losing the elevated and beautiful language? I've created my first script attempting this. Here's my first video about this. I show some differences between the original and my translation. The speech is from Julius Caesar. https://lnkd.in/gsRkzR3A
